  3. Yep i know. My comment related to previous one that its a marketing thing. Its partly true of course but there is a big difference between the 555 cylinder and 560. Im not comparing to the old open transfer ported cylinders ...that was my point lol Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. The high performance cylinders are a specialist casting and are mostly made by Mahle (stihl use them also) the bolt on covers for the transfer ports are simpler casting and production costs are much lower and are made in house by husqvarna despite the extra production steps. The old style open transfer ported cylinders such as on the rancher do not work with an x torque/air head/strato charge engine, its a simple work around to keep costs down on an engine which is not a full bananas pro saw eg 560 xp. 7. Nope its current. Mines 6 months old lol Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. The problem is more likely due to the pivot bolt in the gearhead loosening off a little. There is a friction washer on each side and a nyloc nut. It shouldbetight enough that this holds thehead angle you want alone...and twist grip just locks it. A quarter turn of the twist grip should be plenty. It may be that the threads are stripped as mentioned earlier because u were tightening too much to compensate for the loose pivot bolt. Common oversight. I set mine as above and no probs since. 15. Take a very close look at exactly how the hand guard fits over the leaf spring and coil spring inside. Its a bugger to get it right without knowing how it goes back in and impossible to explain in a book or on here! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Sounds like the knee-link isnt going far enough over centre. It might just be some crap in there. Take the cover off the saw and put the brake on to release some of the tension and inspect the mechanism. Dont forget to wear some eye protection. Google workshop manual, should find one easy. If not let me know i have one somewhere for 254 i can email to u. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  24. Im sat watching documentary on c4 about the 9/11 attacks. It sends a shiver down my spine and a tear to my eyes everytime i see it. Us Westerners have NO business getting involved in affairs of the middle east and this latest mess in syria is no exception. If we hadnt been pissing all over the area since the middle ages we would not have witnessed this appalling event or of course 7/7. There are plenty of other arab states that have the resource to step in if they wish. They have been fighting amongst themselves for thousands of years, if tony blair, obama, hague cameron and anyone else thinks this will ever change they are delluded. All that happens by offering aid or military support just inflames the situation more and is asking for terrorist retribution. We should get 'our boys' out of there (afgan and iraq) and never go back. Between the allied forces we have only left the entire area more unstable than it was before gulf war 1. Its a civil war, they should sort out their own mess. We have enuf problems at home dont lets get involved in another unwinnable crusade. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
