  1. Does anyone know the unladen weight? Cant seem to find it anywhere. Also, any dealers in the UK or just from Ireland? Would there be an import charge coming from Ireland? Ross.
  2. What do you guys think of the Dale Kane tipper trailers? Look well designed/made and well priced too. Or do you prefer the others like Brian James, Atlas, Ifor ect? trailer dale kane 8 x 5 electric tipper dale kane not ifor williams nugent hudson indespension | Belfast City Centre | Gumtree Ross
  3. That Rope Saw has surely got to be the most dangerous tool ever? "I know, I'll cut this branch and let it drop on my head along with the sharp blade......."# Ross.

  5. We shall go for some strawberry plants when we are bored of these. Then we will have some healthy fruit too!
  6. I purchased the Predator 360SW a few months back. 14hp Kohler engine so 1hp more than Rayco/Husq Having the Multitip systems is awesome on it. Have done tiny-large stumps and 1 stump that was about 45" across and customer wanted it completely out due to having a driveway built. Munched through it no probs. Also is easy work with the turntable compared to moving the whole machine. And so far no problems with it. Ross.

  8. Oh right ok I see what you mean. Before I made the trailer for the CS100 I just tied it into my 8x4 trailer with canoe straps. But it never fully secured it as it had always worked itself loose by the time I arrived at the jobs.
  9. That doesn't sound right if the grease is coming out like that. Never had grease poor out of mine. I use a small ratchet strap round the axel a few times onto modified jetski trailer. Then have put a bolt through the drawbar of chipper into the trailer to keep the front down. Ross.
  10. How many pumps of grease are meant for the cutter bearings? Is it pump till it oozes like on some nipples? Or just a few pumps so it doesn't blow the seals? Don't want to put too much or too little as it doesn't state in the manual. Ross.
  11. Would appreciate your feedback on my website I have created using 1%1. Its only basic as that's all I need for now. Maybe as time passes I shall get creative with it. Ross. Home - RDS Tree Surgery
  12. Looks more to be a how not to do it safe video imo. Sorry if it sounds harsh but it doesn't look too professional to me.
  13. Where can I purchase the Multitip teeth? Is it just from their site or are there likely to be small dealers that stock them? Mainly because of £13 p+p (I know its cause their heavy). Ross.
  14. Should have fired up the chipper to drown her out
  15. That reporter has got to be one of the most boring reporters I've heard. He clearly couldn't care less by the tone of his voice.
  16. Oh my days that seems like a lot.
  17. Yeah is on a turntable. Does make life a lot easier. Always try to make sure theres no nasty surprises around the stumps. But if it means you have to spend half the day digging surely it would work out cheaper to add a set of teeth to the quote that half a day labour.
  18. They were brand spankers before I commenced grinding. Think next time I do flinty soil ill charge for new teeth on top.
  19. Yup it was one outing grinding 5 stumps. Condition of area was soil and flint. Noticed it was getting hard work so had a look and found them like this. Had to carry on on last Holy stump as didn't have another set with me. 2 teeth can be grinded but guessing the other 2 are for the bin?
  20. Are these Multitip teeth supposed to go like this after use? I assume not. Strange why two of them got battered and the other two are fine. This was there first outing.
  21. There is no guarantee that you will pass all your tickets. It will all depend on how quick you learn. If you have even a little bit of experience/knowledge with climbing or a very basic knowledge of how a chainsaw/engine works it will help. They give you a big A4 wad of paper with everything you need to know to pass your tickets at the start of the course so use that as your bedtime reading. They do your assessments as you progress through the 12weeks, its not all at the end. So you can concentrate on each module for the assessment day. Out of the 25-30 people on my course, only about 2-3 guys didn't pass each assessment. Also if you don't pass one of them I think you can retake it again whilst on the course. Ross.
  22. The 12 Week course at Plumpton is really good. Gives you a good step into the tree work industry. You will find you will get your knowledge of trees when you start working as there isn't enough time for them to teach you that side of thing. But as for the practical side it is really good and the staff (when I was there) know what there doing and will always help you if your not sure on things. I was a newbie to the whole thing, hadn't used a chainsaw when I started. Had done rock climbing but never tree climbing and they made it very easy to learn all you need to know to get started. It is also a very fun course to do. Ross.
  23. A remote controlled cow tipper? Or any animal in fact....(providing said animal is deaf).
