  1. I took on cutting the grass in the estate where I live, loading the little kubota 6200 isn't what I call funinto the tipper and then tie it down. So much fun I looked into getting a car transporter. . Just be careful. I'd agree with others regarding centre of gravity.
  2. 2005 landcruiser lwb
  3. I have a 35 hp kioti and book weight is 1200kg; you'll need at least 12 ft to contain it with a chipper, but you might need weights on front which will rob space. Not really a problem if it's occasional usage; but if your doing a day a week or more; I'd suggest going tracked, you'll have more hp; and convenience.
  4. Not full, but def 3-3.5 ton
  5. I knew there was more than 3 ton, and I was well Over design weight of jeep.
  6. I was hauling some pine these last few days. Trailer is a Nugent tipper, 10x6ft6 with 3ft sides. Filled with heavy rings, I'm just fearing I was grossly overloaded?
  7. Thanks for explaining that. I have yet to pollard or re pollard a willow.
  8. Nice job, I started to cut above older previous cuts as was told this allows the tree to heal with younger wood and smaller surface areas. Or is that only for less vigorous species?
  9. I find leds good for close work, but not great for casting light far. Xenon lights are not cheap, and I think you might need higher capacity relays for them. Leds are brilliant if you want cheap and easy to fit. I agree with poster that you may need 2-3 to avoid shadows. I have 3 on mag mounts (previously from mag trailer tail lights) and they are so versitile.
  10. How do people rate the bilke?
  11. Thinking of buying a car transporter, either a Brian James a range or the c4. Has anyone used either and can advise on merits of each through usage. I can gather the a range is a higher spec trailer, but I don't see much difference to the cblue 4 range?
  12. looking forward to seeing it. I miss the 2510!
  13. €7200 incl vat
  14. I bought a 10 ft Nugent tipped last year. Very happy with it. It tows really easily, a lot easier than an ifor 12 ft. I bought the ramps, plus mesh sides. But my plan is to make a chip box for it.
  15. Brilliant
  16. Take this with a pinch of salt, but a firm I worked for had a 80hp Ferrari rigid not artic, but reverse drive. Pit was a good machine, but we sold it as it seemed too much hp for such a small unit. The company that bought it had no end of trouble. Seemingly everything that could go wrong did. I.e. Engine, gearbox. They are a very capable machine, but I bought a standard tractor for simplicity and hopefully lower running costs.
  17. Im considering the same for my 35hp kioti. I'd rather a finger bar machine as the flails are too aggressive. Anyway, I don't mind hiring a flail for flail work. But I do see potential where we trim hedges by hand and don't have the reach. I wouldn't recommend a swing trim as it will absorb too much hyd power, especially when you lift or tilt sapping hyd flow from the head. Go got a tandem pump unit. This is what I was after.
  18. I was at the ploughing match this week here in Ireland, decided to have a look at a husq battery saw. Talking to the dealer, I mentioned I had switched to Echo and he laughed. Needless to say I quickly exited his tent. Stihl and Husq have had the market to themselves for too long.
  19. Out fetching some syc thinnings
  20. Yip! Have it a week and I haven't had the pleasure of using it.
  21. Can't wait to get this working at the weekend.
  22. Can I just ask? Why if reading on here, along with my own logic; do boot manufacturers not stitch (and glue if required) the soles to the top. It seems everybody is bonding this and this fails. I'm sorry I am not convinced its the best route, my next boot will be a Pfanner as a result. I always like the Haix stuff, but after reading reviews I just wasn't convinced.
  23. I contacted a guy on ebay selling a 200t and was looking for €1200! I know the 200t is a legendary saw; but its not worth that!
  24. It's a pity we don't have a poll for clothing? Something that list the brands and rates them on price, value, performance and anything anyone can think? I bought a stein jacket; totally useless in wet weather. Finding head to toe gear that performs would be interesting.
  25. I couldn't afford the main brands. That said I quite liked the LS tractors; they are rebadged and sold as NH. I went for Kioti as after some research they made tractors for kubota under licence. I know several businesses (nurseries, Hort) that switched from Kubota to kioti not just in price, but reliability. Time will tell, expecting to take delivery in another week or so.
