  1. I agree with above, hard to accurately diagnose over the Internet; however we can discuss possibilities? I'd imagine an insect would attack buds so that could be the answer; But I also notice a utility marker and if the tree had its root plate damaged over the last 5-8 years; that might only be playing out?
  2. Anyone know the torque settings for the bolts holding the knives? No manual to refer to! Cheers
  3. What about Poland? I know guys that are buying chains for half the price I pay here in Ireland? I know when I lived in Alberta Canada, I could buy a Honda quad for thousand less; but then the dollar was $2 to the punt.
  4. It was neglect that caused the issue. I ploughed on and never noticed the split hose up to decomp - yes she's auto. As far as I know, everything except the outer orange shell is new. Saw even went to husqvarna in Dublin as after rebuild she wouldn't run?? I don't want to be a pain constantly returning to dealer, but for €500 I do expect the saw to run like new. And she was a great saw previous. Such a fan, that's why I threw money into her rather than go for newer auto tunes?? I'll take her back and see what they can do. Oh as far as I can tell she was pressure tested? But if she goes bang again; I don't want to be told it's my fault when I paid for expert labour and genuine parts.
  5. I had same issue, took of exhaust and threw it on bbq to burn off soot. Ran spot on after
  6. Gave my 357xp in for a tune and was told it was knackered due to lack of compression. I was shown the scores on cylinder and given another saw to pull to feel the difference. I was told €400 would replace piston and cylinder but ended up with a €500 bill. I figured the old girl was better than the newer stuff? After getting saw, when hot, she was running a tad fast on tick over or rather was slow to drop to tick over. Chain would stay turning. Brought her back to dealers and they couldn't find same issue but did lower idle as she was running a tad fast. Now she's a pig to start when warm? I'm not happy with my dealer, and tbh loosing faith in husky stuff. It can take 4-6 pulls to get her going when warm?
  7. Im yet to be educated on all this, but heres my ignorant theory. Modern diesels with egrs, if the egr system is faulty or the vehicle is doing short runs, this can cause the engine to foul up. Happened my landcruiser. Resulted in lots of smoke and engine with a chest infection (stick with me here). I blanked off the egr having looked at it, and its a simple job on the landcruiser (just at the side of the block). Within mins, the engine started to run smoother, and with less emmisions and smoke. Now Im not saying we should all be blanking off these egr units; but when they are faulty, they can cause more harm than a vehicle without one. I dont know if petrol is any better? Personally, I think we should be using hybrids, and that might be utilsing a diesel engine? But a hydrogen unit would be ideal- if we could make hydrogen? Or go back to gasification? Be handy for our business??
  8. Some walnuts
  9. Glasnevin Dublin. Somebodies back garden. Saving trees where house is being extended.
  10. Expensive stuff to put through a 2 stroke Jetski?
  11. Never thought of the no noise; be real handy for deadwooding. If they came with a solar charger that would be brilliant?
  12. It's a double ditch, wall, leylandi approx 7-8 metres and poplars behind I just pity the clients; having to put up with it.
  13. I was with a lovely elderly couple this morning. Their neighbour has some leylandi and poplar growing next door up tight to the wall. Usuall issue, light, leaves etc. I see this as a legal issue. We can only trim overhang; and that won't be easy and won't solve problem. Are local authorities in any way equipped to deal with such matters? I see both sides of the argument; but I do feel the law should have some additional power and guidelines? My only contribution was to mark or note the trees as a danger and threat to their property (5 metres away) and in the event of failure; something might happen. Negligence might be out of scope. I'll post some pics later if unsuccessful
  14. My dream is to build a pool and heat it with wood residues?
  15. Talk about a grey area? You have my sympathies. just shows how naive I am thinking this sort of thing would fall into a rather large court case by a H&S agency or trading standards or manufacturer. Would I be wrong in thinking you will have a problem getting 'valid' insurance? I wish you well with this mess?
  16. i dont doubt, looks compact compared to a tractor chipper setup.
  17. impressive machine; can i ask how much?
  18. I worked for a high court judge, in fact a couple of them. One thing they all remarked was how in the old days, a few exchanges would sort out a grievance; but now it seems everything goes legal. I don't think what Jeremy did was right, nor would I like to think that people I work with would throw punches when they got upset. But in this case I think it's between two people who let's face it work in a fairly high charged environment. If I had a crew out working in the cold all day; I'd make sure they got fed proper in the evening. This is all ridiculous at the end of the day, compared to any of the child abuse scandals carried out by celebs. This pales in comparison but gets all this hype? It's wrong, wrong wrong.
  19. When I worked in Canada for a farmer spraying with the stuff; he said a rep used to drink it neat as proof how safe it was! Funny reps never came back??

I'd consider lightening? Are there marks up the tree? Does look a bit wide for lightening?
  21. Kelly stove but not everyday. Must start using it again! That jetboil looks cool!
  22. Any pics of Dermot Caseys chippers?
