  1. It's a double ditch, wall, leylandi approx 7-8 metres and poplars behind I just pity the clients; having to put up with it.
  2. I was with a lovely elderly couple this morning. Their neighbour has some leylandi and poplar growing next door up tight to the wall. Usuall issue, light, leaves etc. I see this as a legal issue. We can only trim overhang; and that won't be easy and won't solve problem. Are local authorities in any way equipped to deal with such matters? I see both sides of the argument; but I do feel the law should have some additional power and guidelines? My only contribution was to mark or note the trees as a danger and threat to their property (5 metres away) and in the event of failure; something might happen. Negligence might be out of scope. I'll post some pics later if unsuccessful
  3. My dream is to build a pool and heat it with wood residues?
  4. Talk about a grey area? You have my sympathies. just shows how naive I am thinking this sort of thing would fall into a rather large court case by a H&S agency or trading standards or manufacturer. Would I be wrong in thinking you will have a problem getting 'valid' insurance? I wish you well with this mess?
  5. i dont doubt, looks compact compared to a tractor chipper setup.
  6. impressive machine; can i ask how much?
  7. I worked for a high court judge, in fact a couple of them. One thing they all remarked was how in the old days, a few exchanges would sort out a grievance; but now it seems everything goes legal. I don't think what Jeremy did was right, nor would I like to think that people I work with would throw punches when they got upset. But in this case I think it's between two people who let's face it work in a fairly high charged environment. If I had a crew out working in the cold all day; I'd make sure they got fed proper in the evening. This is all ridiculous at the end of the day, compared to any of the child abuse scandals carried out by celebs. This pales in comparison but gets all this hype? It's wrong, wrong wrong.
  8. When I worked in Canada for a farmer spraying with the stuff; he said a rep used to drink it neat as proof how safe it was! Funny reps never came back??

I'd consider lightening? Are there marks up the tree? Does look a bit wide for lightening?
  10. Kelly stove but not everyday. Must start using it again! That jetboil looks cool!
  11. Any pics of Dermot Caseys chippers?
  12. I notice below the buds or ?? It's green. I ripped this branch off - but it does feel pithy
  13. We used to run a mf 135 with a front end loader. It was amazing to see what it would lift. I would say it should manage it, you could always get a pump to put on the PTO?
  14. the fresh growth is green to brown; but shoots look much the same as Japanese knotweed ie angular, or numerous flat edges to make a circle- much like a 20p I agree the bark on the main stem is much like a Cherry or plum, but what has me confused is this green, fresh growth on new shoots, and ridges. I never saw that on Cherries before?
  15. Thats a fair point Marc, I just found putting them on in the past a great deal heavier than any of the livestock or tri axles I own.
  16. Toying with the idea of getting a ifor williams tipper. So after opinions. Not a huge fan, as the drawbar weight seems a great deal higher than a standard trailer (gets me thinking I'll be changing shocks and springs more often) Are the new ifor williams better than the old? some say the quality is poorer? Might just buy a 7.5 ton s/h truck instead?
  17. I have a landcruiser; not entirely sure of exact mpg, but i reckon it averages around 20-22mpg I don't know how people are getting 30 mpg plus unless they are driving at 5mph on a motorway.
  18. Don't agree. He has to entertain, and to be fair he always portrayed UK services and kit in a good light. Sure he skates the line. Maybe the BBC just can't handle him. I always enjoy his views especially in paper or books, even though I wouldn't always agree with every comment. I don't think top gear will be the same if he goes. I watch the occasional fifth gear; but top gear was fantastic and it was the Orangutan that made it so.
  19. Spring and summer 2014 were very dry and have taken their toll on many trees, especially any requiring watering. I move thousands of oaks each year and rarely have any failures. These would be 40-60cm oaks. Is your soil dry or stoney? Are all the oaks and acers the same diameter? Did all the trees dig cleanly or was there rock or roots hanging out? We're the trees planted in the same location or scattered with different soils?
  20. It's a tough call. Inform parties and you may open pandoras box causing delay to project, but it certainly is the right thing to do. How far back are the trees from the motorway boundary? You could say nothing, and also be right.
