  1. Yeah, i suspect it may be a bit of stirring and Im thinking that my back is covered because from my point of view everything is above board but Im very aware that the dwp make their own rules and can come down hard on folks that employ people claiming benefits. I gave them a ring but the chap i spoke to was curt and unhelpful just kept saying he cant tell me anything because of privacy laws
  2. I am a sole trader and the lad I use as my groundy is freelance and invoices me for the work that he does for me, i pay him and receive a receipt for payment. This all seems pretty straight forward, until recently I heard a whisper that he was signing on too. I asked him about this and he denied that this was the case. I believe him (kinda) as it goes without saying trust is imperative. But the whisper has sown a seed of doubt and a few things are niggling away in my mind. As i said ive taken him at his word that hes not signing on but where would it leave me from a legal stand point if he is and out of the blue there is a knocking on my door from a dwp officer asking why ive been employing a guy who is on the dole??
  3. Veg oils/old filtered chip pan oils can stiffen up the chain when it warms then cools also as it oxidises. Fine when it gets going tho I know a few lads that warm the bar/chain with blow torch before firing up the saw
  4. Nice one cheers Paul.
  5. Ahh, think its just the free assessment that I dont qualify for. Ide certainly like to come along to the workshop tho. where is it? What time does it start?

  8. yeah ive used the butterfly and dragonfly. both similar to the th5000 and th7000. the komet harnesses do seem slightly more comfy and better for positioning.
  9. Old tom beautiful strong dark ale, Old peculiar, Poachers choice and Hobgoblin are my current favourites. Cant wait to see my beloved this valentines day when i get home from work......when i open the fridge and pour it lovingly into a glass mmmmmm
  10. Is that an easy solve by binding elastic bands round the webbing strap near the buckle?
  11. 1:50 seems a bit oil heavy haha, now thats gonna smoke!!!
  12. Ive heard their spikes are good value for money.
  13. Only difference would be that ide charge £150 for me and another lad for half a day....... not a great difference really
  14. Shoulders are nearly shot already but only in one movement. Luckily I can bust most arb moves without tweaking the raw nerve...but when I do fvck me it makes me do a swear!!!! And a cry.
  15. Think the missus has hid my pantin. Im sure she likes the fact i have to hip thrust up those stems keeping me in shape...wink wink.
  16. anybody out there use or have used the treehog/arbortec th5000 or th7000 harnesses? Im looking for a harness but am on a budget ive seen these online from a couple of suppliers sub-200 quid. I tried them both on earlier today. The 5000 offered a bit more freedom of movement as its got independent leg loops but cos the padding of the leg loops goes quite far up at the back it had a tendency to ride up my arse a bit when my weight was taken out of it and when i moved from legs bent/dynamic position to standing. The 7000 has a bosun like seat so was really comfy when my weight was in it but compromised a bit on freedom of movement. Has anybody got any views on what theyre like when theyve been worn in a bit and what theyre like when youve been in one for hours?? Also any alternatives sub-200 quid?? Cheers fellas:001_smile:

  21. Sod it, not going to bother, fuel is about 3 months old so for the price of 5 litres of petrol I dont think its worth it. ive got a neighbour I dont get on with so his lawn might cop for it haha
  22. Its a briggs n stratton engine and its just to use up about 5 ltrs of 2 stroke mix. Maybe ill just add it in bit by bit to the fresh stuff so as its not 100% 2 stroke mix in the tank
  23. What about dolly? Did she make it?
  24. ive read a few times on here that folks put 'old' fuel into their lawnmowers. would i br right in thinking that a 4 stroke mower will be ok running with fuel/2stroke mix?
