  1. I am not sure it's that just seems flash but pointless buying a new truck. Did once but never again. Buy it a few years old when it's halved in value but still got 3/4 of it's life ahead of it.
  2. Mates getting rid of his as he thinks it's painfully slow
  3. Also I am not sure the image of a brand new truck works everywhere. Pretty sure around here we all think you must be ripping them off if you driving fancy new kit
  4. Loads of woodworkers rave about Tuffsaws. Not used them myself. Most decent suppliers will make up any length you want but I suspect being a Record you can them off the shelf.
  5. You confident on that? I have been driving to commercial speed limits for 3 years now and would love to back to regular speeds where I can. Mind you going hastily in an empty single cab is not a great idea anyway.
  6. Just revisiting this after a discussion elsewhere. Is a 4WD single cab pickup a dual purpose vehicle? I read the below as yes but then Liz pointed out the catch to be "for the carriage both of passengers and of goods" passengers being the key and a single cab can only carry a passenger. Is that right? From the DVLA Dual purpose vehicles A dual purpose vehicle is a vehicle constructed or adapted for the carriage both of passengers and of goods and designed to weigh no more than 2,040 kg when unladen, and is either: constructed or adapted so that the driving power of the engine is, or can be selected to be, transmitted to all wheels of the vehicle or permanently fitted with a rigid roof, at least one row of transverse passenger seats to the rear of the driver’s seat and will have side and rear windows - there must also be a minimum ratio between the size of passenger and stowage areas
  7. I tried out an Oxdale but did not get on with it. Well priced for the build and reasonably quick but the killer for me is how close the blade is to the vertical support. Tried a few ugly logs and it would just glance off the back of them and push them towards you. Nicest road tow I have seen at the shows is the AMR but it's a very different price.
  8. Ah OK. I was sold some "Brazilian Mahogany" many years back in my yoth that looked identical but guess if you dont know as a buyer they can palm you off with anything.
  9. Looks like Brazilian Mahogany.
  10. From Vimio " "Snow, sweat, testosterone and the sound of chainsaws. Every four years, over a period of three months in winter, wood is being cut in a steep mountain high above Lake Ägeri and prepared for log rafting. Neither economic change nor technology has been able to replace this traditional and sustainable craft in Switzerland. "INS HOLZ (IN THE WOODS)" is this week's Staff Pick Premiere! Read more about it here: vimeo.com/blog/post/In-The-Woods"
  11. Probably been posted before but so much to comment on I dont know where to start
  12. Clearly my spelling is off but that's the one I tried but did not like
  13. Think mine has developed the same problem. Any tips on getting into the valve to see?
  14. I should add I think others on here prefer the Igland bar. May depend on the quality of the wood you get. I do loads of twisty hedgerow timber which likes any excuse to jam up.
  15. Looks handy but those cone splitters never appeal. They make such a god awful mess would rather just ring the wood and split for decent logs.
  16. Presuming we are talking about the Igland Forest all in one instead of the Oregon bar and spacer? If so I have tried it and reverted back to the original set up. The Igland bar is a touch thicker and seems more prone to jamming with twisty wood. Also seems soft and spent a lot of time dressing it. It still used the same gauge 0.58 1.5mm chain so not a true harvester bar
  17. Cant see any evidence of being part of a chain.
  18. Have had a reply from the local council to say they have received the complaint and now have a reference number. Any need to follow this up with a call? All online reviews including hygiene are very good. She has considered the legal approach just hesitant to get into a fight with them. She was sure that the way the pub was using the space contravened the deeds. Clearly I have not seen any of this and hope that a prod from EH will make them sort it.
  19. Ah no just re read my post it was the pub owners I spoke to not the EH. EH was an online form which you wonder if it just dumps it out the back of the computer haha
  20. Already contacted EH. Spoke to them at the the time and they said they had tidied as it was much worse yesterday. Also said it was only one bag of pheasant remains. I told them I would report it and was just ignored. Dont think they will listen to reason.
  21. Whats the difference between rippled and quilted or is just more extreme?
  22. Ones that fit you for starters. I have been using some Husqvarna Technical for many years of part time use and they are holding up very well but if on awkward slopes a good fitting boot is paramount IMO so go try some brands on.
  23. Just a hint but nothing to get stressed about. Proper ripple is pretty dramatic
  24. He is well but the rest is his business
  25. Tempted but will hold off for the time being. Spoken with the lady and she was happy for me to report to EH which I have now done. Turns out a good friend of mine knows the big cheese in EH and reckons it actionable so we will see were this goes.
