  8. Ive been there with the bad luck, was a chippy for four years been made redundant twice, got tired of getting let down by employers, So had a majour rethink, I've always loved working outside and love wood/ logging etc . . So when I found out this last time I was going to loose my job I started to save straight away, I phoned around and bought my first two cources 30&31 then saved up a bit more and got 38&39, This cost a fourtune alone, then every pay packet I would set a bit aside for tools now 12 or so months later I have a van&trailer will be upgrading to 4x4 in august, 3 saws, blower hedge cutters strimmers long reach cutter, All climbing kit, lowering kit, pulleys, portawrap, slings etc, Now I have enough kit to be able to take on small / medium jobs, Just shows I started with diddly squat, but saving and smiling is the way, work hard get good kit and your going in the right direction. Now logs have picked up and have got splitter as shown in pic So save hard work hard mate, pm me ur details if you want im mid Devon Josh:thumbup:

  18. So I tied the distel yesterday with the added pulley, the krab used on bridge was a petzl ok, and with both ends of distel and pulley on one krab it seemed a bit tight. When I threw rope over I had to put the double figure of eight on another krab. , I liked how it worked but the krabs kept sliding together and it felt a bit busy, would like to see how other people use it. Needless to say after first two elms were on the deck I went back to the trusty old prussik.
  19. ideal mate im just tying it now how long was ur friction cord ?

  25. Hi all, I've been climbing for a while now on double rope with prussik and a steel strop, was wondering about a slicker friction hitch for both ascending. And decending , I can't seem to find much info on best knot, I've got 2m of 10mm boa friction and a petzl pulley. Just would like some help on maybe tying the distel or vt with pulley and how sucessfull it is as a main line friction hitch, Any pics of your own climbing systems would be great help thanks:thumbup1:
