  4. you maybe right yet, if only i could get a refund for the 261 i would almost certainly try the 550 or 560xp.
  5. mine was new 8th of november 2011 and its a problem saw,
  6. I was thinking the same mate been looking at the 560
  7. It had original sproket on but that got upgraded to the newer supposidly tougher spur sproket, however it doesn't seem to be any better, very dissapointing on a pro saw as you say, I wil see what happens in the next few days as they should have the saw by tommorow
  8. Its already had the upgraded spur sproket so god knows what's on now,
  9. Was hedging with 261 yesterday and every time I applied the chain brake it would squeel I have phoned jonsie and its being collected as I write this, yes its had a hard year of work but for a £500.00 saw should the needle bearings and clutch problems be minor not majour, 3rd time its been back to main dealer now, at what point will stihl replace it or will they keep on fixing it ?
  10. I have a 261 yes its had a new clutch drum but its done a lot of work, been reliable. Can't really fault it smooth power and well balanced
  11. Brilliant see my previous loss but back arms are weak, but it goes like s rocket
  12. Log splitter for sale in classifieds
  13. I totally agree, I have been measuring logs, loose in a dumpy bag but heaped right up.
  14. Yes £60.00 seems ok, and i mean a heaped bulk bag, 800mm x 800mm x 800mm. mi9xed roughly 80% hard 20% soft, all consistent lengths and every log is split!
  15. Ive Been doing logs for a while, started with bulk bags(dumpy bags) seasoned split logs 10/12" long mixed hard wood/soft wood for £40.00 delivered. Been asking around, and it seems far to cheap most people are £70ish for hard and £50ish for soft I was thinking of Changing my price to £60.00 per bag delivered. just wondered what other people charge . thanks josh
  16. yh they looked a bit rotten, wel we have come to a conclusion me and dad are going to make a splitter (towable ) from scratch. that way we can get a single valve (hate the 2 handed versions) It should be a nice project the base engine is a kholer 7-8hp we can get steel for £75.00 valve £100 (decent one) wheels/tyres/stub axles £200.00 ram £100.00 luckily a few of dads customers are engineers so coupling & hydraulic pipes are going to be made from scratch:001_smile: will upload pics when shes done!!
  17. here was there reply Thank you for contacting us and your interest in the DR Log Splitters. Unfortunately, the DR Factory does not arrange international shipping to the United Kingdom, as there is an international Sales/Distributor for certain DR Products that serves your area. However, because the DR Log Splitters are not CE Compliant, and therefore, do not comply with the requirements relevant to European standards, we are unable to ship our Log Splitters to you or to the international Sales/Distributor. At this time, DR Power Equipment has no plans to design and manufacture our Log Splitters to comply with the laws and regulations for the European Marketplace gutted they looked a good tool, & reasonably priced
  18. Even truer however shorly a competant person ( qualified with lets say nptc 31 - 39 ) should realise to move fingers&thumbs when the ram is moving forwards?
  19. Yes very true but that is what slows them all down the 2 handed doo dar,
