  1. Hi mate, It's not 2006, it's 2014 and the visa entry requirements have changed. I've just been through the whole deal. Secondly there is a slow down in the market here so the money no longer flows as it did. The money is relevant though so in Sydney you may well get 35 plus but the city is damn expensive. I'm all ears as how to get into oz now besides one of 3 methods. Work holiday visa, skilled visa, or pay your way in which is ridiculous amounts of money. I'm talking from current personal experience too. Ps, I am interested to know the route you took.
  2. Just to clear some staff up here. The working holiday visa cutoff is 31, that means the only way you can get into oz is on a skilled visa if you are over 31. This means either yourself or your wife must hold a minimum of a degree in a required field on the oz skilled list. The rates of pay in oz for climbers or team leaders is between 25 - 35 dollars an hour. The working week is serious, the minimum week is around 50 hours a week with the most of those hours being spent up pretty large trees. It's all maximum speed bosh bosh bosh. Any questions feel free to ask.
  3. Exactly, you need experience working for an arb company. No wonder our industry isn't taken seriously. I know this will be offensive to many on here but I slaved my nuts off in someone else's firm and payed for my own education in this field until I knew I was or would be deemed a competent arborist. I must compete for work now with people who need advice from from cyber warriors like myself on how to do a straightforward job. By the way Id much rather you ask on here than get yourself hurt so Im not bashing you asking. The tree from the pictures looks straight forward, we cannot however tell you what the base looks like, if it doesn't look safe to you ask for a second (in person) opinion or cost in a mewp. Abuse and tongue lashings accepted.
  4. The reason the UK has no wildlife left is because everything non human must either be squashed, torn to pieces by dogs or culled. This islands loss!
  5. Both, I think the apps brilliant and use it often so the more fungi species in all three genres plus info and photos would be brilliant. Cheers
  6. I know its not the site but since there's an option to raise the request.Would you mind broadening the fungi app database. More more more!!!! Please.
  7. One time I called in sick because I was Ill! End of! My body, my health, my life. Break myself so my boss wont think Im a sissy, please. These threads always bring out all the John Rambo's.
  8. It has had multiple crown reductions, its roadside and has M G. Is there really a case to debate whether this should be kept?
  9. The first one is one of the 6 species of Carpobrotus. These are found along the Southern African coast and are excellent for stings or toxins from insects in general.
  10. The top one is found on the sand dunes of south africa, its used on the stings of bluebottles. I cant think of the name right now. Give me a sec.
  11. I am qualied, its not a serious survey anyway. The owner just wants an opinion, Iv done many a year for him on different projects.
  12. As a survey for a client, I was wondering if this template would be acceptable for them to keep. Im referring to the heading on the template.
  13. I know this is old but id appreciate a response anyone. Does the template by vl2007 in PDF need to be altered before printing and use?
  14. 100% true, they seem to get this hanging pear shape ass that looks like it evolved to fit the saddle.
  15. So if someone jogs back from the chipper then they "got it"?
  16. Exactly!! Plus wears the body out quicker. I work bloody hard and I dont need it to be questioned because i didnt sprint my tits off just to get some more brash.
  17. Goat Willow, Salix caprea. I may be wrong, hard to see on my screen.
  18. Just a question, if one of your guys injures themselves do you still pay them or are they on their own?
  19. Im not sure which side to believe, what I will say is that something doesn't add up. Assad knows using chemical weapons will bring the west in, so why use them? He knows as does any military or ex military they wont win him the war. Lastly should the west use force they wont have boots on the ground, they will use air supremacy. Troops cannot be deployed on the ground in Syria in the current climate. Special forces and intelligence agents in an operative role as advisory only.
  20. Could someone on here who is using the spiderjack 2 and is now using the Zig Zag please give me a rundown on why i should give up my spiderjack for one of these. Im trying to figure out if the ZZ looks to good to be true. Thanks in advance.
  21. Totally missed that, watching it on a small screen. I still enjoyed it though.
  22. So you want to exchange a short NZ winter for the northern hemisphere? Judging by our summers lately you might be better off just working the winter there, or look at the south of France.
  23. If the rope hadn't of snapped then this might have been a video of a climbers death, I don't understand the point to this experiment. Snatching that size timber on that stem, root plate movement and possible hidden stem weaknesses would have been my first concern, rope failure last. Still entertaining to watch though, that climber must have balls like boulders...
  24. An ms200 back handle would be ideal to learn your way around a saw and using it.
  25. Am i the only one whos internet security keeps fending off an attacking website every-time i log on here?
