  1. Okay that helps me. Cheers all!
  2. Hi all, I haven't really done any rigging but what sort of weight would you say is the limit for light rigging. Jake
  3. Ah right that Is what I would like to get one for. I'm wondering whether it is best to get a right or left one. Or is that just down to preferance? Jake
  4. Hi All. I am currently using a hitch climber set up on DdRT and I was thinking about investing in a pantin to make the long hauls a bit easier on my arms. Would you guys reccomend this or is it not really worth the investment? Cheers, Jake
  5. Could someone please post a video or some pictures of it in use. It would be good to see how it actually works because i'm a bit confuzzled at the minute
  6. No worries, hope to see those new set up pics when you have your new bits.
  7. You could also turn the ID round the other way so that the lever is facing away from you lol.
  8. Ah great that will be perfect then, also give me a couple more points to attach things Let me just go get one.....
  9. That does look like a lovely saw to use. And the Sawpod idea is a neat little trick with the locking scabbard. I have an old 020 top handle (ALL METAL!) and that thing is heavy to have on the harness. The 150 does interest me. One question. I know that a CS 39 ticket is required to buy a top handle saw but I am currently studying a level 3 Arboriculture course at college and I am training for all of the basic tickets (30, 31, 38, 39). Would I be able to buy one in these circumstances or would I need to have the ticket. Jake
  10. How much rope is the Sherill Wingman Pouch able to hold? I have a 7m side strop i'd need it to be able to hold 5m at least leaving 2m hanging which is fine. Jake
  11. What length of rope is the small silver bull bag able to hold?
  12. Haha cheers. I'd personally reccomend the large Petzl Swivel because you have the extra room for the krab to move. If you got a large ring on your bridge instead then the ID would be orientated so that the lever is facing towards you, (Is this what you want), making decents slightly more controlable. Jake
  13. Hi all. I was competing at the East of England Cutters and Climbers Comp last weekend and I noticed that a fair few climbers had small bags on the back of there harness for their side line to keep it out of the way. I'm getting a bit fed up with my side line getting tangled so I am interested in getting one of these bags. It looked like they all had the same type of bag so I was wondering if any of you guys would be able to let me know what bags these are? Cheers, Jake
  14. Back to the origional post about the set up on the bridge, I'd swap the krab that has your splice on it for a Petzl Williams krab, it is a very large one which I use for my hitch climber and it still has room left on it. As you only have the splice on it the Petzl ID will also fit on there nicely which removes any rubbing of krabs. I'd also get a swivel for your bridge, this will give you much smoother turning in the tree for easier limb walks and your ropes are less likely to twist as you can turn 360 on the swivel! Hope this helps, Jake
  15. What video is that? Do you mean the 'Spiderjackery' Vids? If so then yes I have watched all of them and It does look amazing to use. Think there needs to be a reccy near Bury way.
  16. I'm exactly the same. Knowing that Petzl have already started to manufacture a new version and are acting so quickly with everything to do with the ZZ I am also really looking forward to version 2!
  17. Tried the howard hitch yesterday for a little trail run with my new HC. Seems like it's a nice knot to climb on but could get a bit stiff after use, I prevented jolting down by incoorporating a munter hitch on a krab on my side D ring, work a charm with that on.
  18. Where aboust in Suffolk are you dexta? I'm also In Suffolk and would also really like to go on a Reccy. I have also looked at the SJ as a replacement but I would like to try it first. Jake
  19. This occurrence does not affect my opinion of Petzl at all. Being as they are already manufacturing a MK2 shows that they are working hard on it. The first ZigZag was a great piece of kit and the MK2 will be even better and hopefully with no problems.
  20. I think that it will be thoroughly tested this time. They might alter some of the other problems too.
  21. Has anyone tried the Hitch Climber with a Howard Hitch? Seems like it would work quite nicely.
  22. I know for a fact that Chalky White is in desperate need of fire wood for this weekend.
  23. Ah right okay cheers. Always good to save a few pennies. How does 'Ocean Pollyester' cord work on Yale XTC Plus rope??
  24. Cheers guys i'll try a few of them. Are you on the Rapide pulley or the normal DMM (3 point attatchment) one? I think i will go for the Rapide for extra smoothness. Jake
  25. Hi all. Just about to start using a Hitch Climber set up and was wondering what knot you HC users prefer. Do you use the common Distel or French Prussik or are there other knots that work better? Cheers, Jake.
