  1. Are they lighter weight then?
  2. Brilliant. Looks like i know what i'll buy with the xmas money then!!
  3. Okay cool. Any experience of a Husky 357xp with the 15" bar? Does it add a lot of weight? Jake
  4. Got my 357 for £280 i think. Bloody love that saw. Yes it is heavy but that thing just keeps on going!!! If you can find one for the right price then go for it IMO!!! Jake
  5. Yeah I am looking to buy one for my 357xp. Just because the bar on there at the minute is a bit old. What size bar are you running?
  6. Hi all. Just out of interest are the Sugi Hara bars all that? Do they last a lot longer than normal bars? What is so good about them? I'm not trying to 'slag them off' at all i'm just wondering if they're any good? Jake
  7. Yeah there is a reason, on my bridge I have a swivell and a large ring. I have my main line in the swivel and my side line on the large ring. When i have both lines in (so when cutting) the large ring sometimes sits around the shackle instead of on the bridge itself.
  8. Hi all. I have the Komet Butterfly harness and I'm thinking of replacing the shackles that hold the bridge on to the gold rings that are used on the Petzl Sequoia. Can anyone see a problem with doing this and is it 'allowed' to be done? Cheers, Jake
  9. I admit it does look good but I'm afraid i'm going to have to leave it for a while and stick with my hitch climber. Got it set up perfectly now but will keep the new ZZ in mind
  10. There is a hole in the old style pantin for a small biner but I have the new model and there is no hole.
  11. Pantin worked an absolute dream today!! The back pedaling motion kept the rope in place the whole time!! Thanks for the help!!! Jake
  12. Cheers for all of the replies! I'll next be up a tree on Wednesday so I'll let you know how i get on with the tips!! Jake
  13. Ah now that's a cleaver trick! So the throw bag adds weight to the line to keep it in the Pantin? Nice!! Jake
  14. Hi all. I have noticed that when using the pantin, when I lift my foot up to move the pantin up the rope, the rope sometimes pops out! Do you have any way that I can stop this happening all the time? Any pics would be a great help too! Cheers, Jake
  15. For climbing DdRT I use the Howard Hitch! An absoulute dream to climb on!! Haven't made the move to SRT yet but i think the Howard Hitch would work well on both Hitch Climber with RW and also on the HH!
  16. This seems like a very basic but smooth set up for the HH! Any one use it in a way similar to this?? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4Y5mE4WmxE]RopeTek Hitch Hiker - YouTube[/ame] Jake
  17. Ah okay well i have both an attachment ring and a swivel on my bridge. Damn this seems a tempting buy!!
  18. What is it like used with a Swivel? Does it make much of a difference??
  19. Oh brilliant so you just clip the Splice or Bowline into your bridge and climb a bit like a hitch climber? TBH the HH seems like the perfect SRT gear to start learning the way of SRTWP!!!
  20. Hmmm the HH is sounding very tempting!!! Did I read correct in a prev post that you use it DdRT as well?? Or do you just change from DdRT to SRTWP? Jake
  21. Hi Gerbutt, I'm looking into SRT atm and the HH seems intriguing!!! How do you find it o the 13mm XTC as that is what i climb on at the minute! I know it's probably mentioned on a different page but what cord do you guys use for the small length of rope with two eyes (self sewn)? Is that to attach a chest strop? Cheers, Jake H
  22. Right guys I'm thinking about getting some new climbing spikes and am interested in the Stein X2 Aluminium Climbing Spikes. I was just wondering if people would recommend these or not? Are they comfortable to climb in for a long time? Do the 'C' shaped pads restrict the size leg that the spikes can be used on? Are the worth the money? And anything else about the spikes that you know would be a great help. Cheers, Jake H
