  1. SHOCK WEATHER FORECAST: Hottest August in 300 YEARS on way as jet stream BOILS Britain | Nature | News | Daily Express oh err mrs
  2. the above is like a henge with an avenue - I think this could be meant to replicate one. Henges were not just made of stone an ancient wooden henge has been found uncovered at low tide - https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=henge+with+avenue+aerial+pic&rlz=1T4ACAW_enGB360GB360&tbm=isch&imgil=Gzp7UMAIgHQhFM%253A%253Bt9y5EEmfnsDYkM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.historyextra.com%25252Fnews%25252F%25252525E2%2525252580%2525252598missing-piece%25252525E2%2525252580%2525252599-stonehenge-avenue-uncovered&source=iu&usg=__osPf8Q9S9-EWaTXV7Lux6hKlKbg%3D&sa=X&ei=Y8PbU_TeDsXG7AaC0YCgCw&ved=0CDcQ9QEwCA&biw=1012&bih=453#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=Gzp7UMAIgHQhFM%253A%3Bt9y5EEmfnsDYkM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fcdn.historyextra.com%252Fsites%252Fdefault%252Ffiles%252Fuploads%252F33329%252FStonehenge%252520proposed.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.historyextra.com%252Fnews%252F%2525E2%252580%252598missing-piece%2525E2%252580%252599-stonehenge-avenue-uncovered%3B650%3B400
  3. knit together with gossamer:001_smile: sorry Tony
  4. I have a picture of you dressed in hessian attire sat under a tree playing harmonious tunes on the pan pipes:vroam:
  5. bit hard to photo copy without breaking the spine of the book I imagine
  6. erosion v trees - trees win
  7. that's a better pic - ok that does change things - the tree is young and I think you could take both limbs off without causing the tree much damage, and considering how much potential growth the tree has got overall, its better to take them off now than later when the branch diameters will be larger therefore creating a larger wound
  8. im glad you stopped there - the top limb could fail if you had taken it further. It would have been better to have not taken the limb back so far - at least cut to a decent lateral higher up the branch - I would have explained to the client in this example that tree shape is not as important as tree health
  9. I wince at the thought of plough damage in those wheat fields - hope they never plant maize or spuds (deeper ploughing)
  10. I may get the new mattheck book subject to arbtalk reviews - Im getting back into consultancy again
  11. Im sure a decade or two ago - landowners (mainly aimed at farmers) could get a grant for pollarding some trees -my memory is a bit vague but I think OM willows were one
  12. I thought that - put mine on e bay in Jan - only went to £75.00 - wish I had kept it now
  13. its useful to know this
  14. Ive seen them in that part of the world - rock specialists!
  15. I was going to say magnolia but the leaves are small
  16. I had to climb down the side of chester castle once to relieve the walls of some elder that had rather rudely made it their home
  17. I will be getting pictures of the dismantle and any rot which may appear during the dismantle. looking forward to the pics:thumbup1:
  18. saw Floyd n 1988 - best gig ive ever been
  19. did you cut the tree higher up the trunk? if you did was there any variation in the pattern. If fungal I would think its would taper off
  20. ah - yes I will give her a bell (well we would all like to do that)
  21. cranes are good for big lengths - I wouldn't want to do them too big over a house some of the branches are lowish too.
  22. I used to chase the girls with them in my hand - even better get a drone wasp (no sting)
