  1. Any of the assorted Clarkes, Honeys, Gustharts or Jones that advertise all over this site should be able to help you out
  2. You're supposed to wait 'til the buds are just about to burst, right?
  3. Must be different down south, we're busier in the winter when the leaves are off and the sap is down.
  4. My Da has a 30ish cc Dolmar that he's had for about 20 years and it still starts and runs well. Only used once or twice a month tho so no idea how well they stand up to real work.
  5. Hey Chris, I would recommend finding a course that includes the assessment, should be cheaper than separate booking and less chance of a lengthy time between training and test. If you've been having a look round the forum you can probably pick up on the fact that times are tough in arb (same as elsewhere except banking possibly?) and its a tough enough game to get into (5 years for me personally, from gimp to semi-decent climber) However, if its something you really want to do then get stuck in and the best of luck!
  6. Is the 2 day course certified by NPTC? Just curious.
  7. Prussik, 3 knot system (bowline, blakes, fig 8), larks foot should see you right. Learn the assessment schedule word for word and take your time. Good luck!
  8. Just too far to travel for me but kudos to all on the community spirit!
  9. Yup, Clegs they are. 'Ninja mode' so true!
  10. That's got to be a send-up!

    poor pay

Where the hell is that 'Happy, joyful, world full of wonder..' thread, quick! Its like that old fast show sketch with the artist; 'BLACK!! BLACKNESS EVERYWHERE!! #trashes easel off edge of beautiful forest waterfall, kicks pack-up into river# ARRRRRRGGGHHHHH!!! THE BLACKNESS COMES!! #cut to old lady, scene left# 'Oh Johnny no!, stay away from the darkness!' Times are pretty bad but lets just knuckle down and get on with it! The light at the end of the tunnel is only a train 2 times in 10!
  12. Its that 1 second lapse in concentration in an 8 hour day that we all work against I guess. Glad your ok and cheers for 'keeping it real'
  13. Same thing with the phantom brake on the stihl cut-off saw. Every. Single. Time.
  14. This is really great to hear! Faith in humanity; RESTORED!
  15. Not so much fc plantation stuff but more native species? I reckon with our companies associated landscaping work we plant 5-10 times what I remove every year. (My personal favourite is a copper beech that I transplanted as a 3 inch seedling thats now 4 foot high and about to leaf, not that I check up on it or anything) Just curious after reading another thread this evening and being struck once again with a feeling of impending doom for the tree care industry that we all love. Jim
  16. Im based over Stirling direction and would be up for a recreational. Lots of nice trees not far from here
  17. Dont know if you can see how many views your item on ebay has had but if there is a counter this daft (words that are not polite) is going to be getting all excited about his high hit-rate!
  18. These will sell very well I suspect. Great looking designs, keep us posted
  19. It makes sense that there is a break-away aspect to those attachments. Buy a carrytool and clip your saw up short when moving through the crown. Simples
  20. Fencing in the sideways rain and mud and trying not to get bitten by an angsty horse. Great day.
