  1. Nice one, fortune favours the brave ??
  2. Had a mate did similar with his flat in Falmouth for the’99 solar eclipse. Don’t think it was as rich as £50k but gave him a years worth of beer vouchers!
  3. The inference was subtle - but sufficiently direct. Do you want the crayons.... They're not for eating mind.... ?
  4. If the vendor intentionally withholds material information at the point of sale they could find themselves liable for recovery from the purchaser. The purchaser's conveyancer "should" highlight any outstanding charges against the land but the likes of TPOs are often not highlighted. The purchaser could seek to recover costs against their conveyancer if the failure to highlight was professionally inept. None of which is any concern or liability for the person that was contracted to remove the tree. If you weren't contracted to undertake the re-plant you just walk away.
  5. You'd think that would provide something of a barrier / buffer. But look who's coming along to spoil it\! Wealthy families flee cities to work from countryside homes WWW.THETIMES.CO.UK Affluent families desperate to escape towns and cities are offering tens of thousands of pounds to the owners of...
  6. It'd be a laugh though (not the dying bit) but making a list of who you'd give your kit to if you did shuffle off. Typical ex-army trying to catch a lead on everyone else! I'd dibs yr MO and attachments (after you've sorted the hyd leak obvs ?)
  7. I’ve been thinking the same Gary. If there are children (and I’m sure, sadly, there are) in such danger / risk of neglect if they stay at home from 09:00 15:00, what happens to that risk between 15:01 and 08:59? Does it just not exist outside of school hours? There’s one creature that used to appear at our nipper’s school. Her daughter was a lovely little girl, best friends with ours. Her mother on the other hand, was a total scummer retard. Several previous children extracted from her care, including the little 7 year old, and yet she kept getting knocked up and spitting out more. If ever there was a case for sterilisation - she was it!
  8. No surprise, I’m with Marcus on this one. whether it be big, big business, airlines, train franchises, big retailers etc, you take your bonuses and share inflations year on year. You exist to generate wealth and profit and you revel in publishing your year on year % growth to justify the millions paid to CEOs and share holders. Exactly the same is true, on a sliding scale, as you roll down through medium or even small enterprises. Yes of course there is a moral aspect to maintain employment by these companies and many do so whilst still fluffing the profits and feathering the nests. We hear nothing from business when it’s flying, just doing well and raking the benefits. Now it might be going to shit, it’s hand out for public money and you can absolutely guarantee that as soon as government comes up with a ‘system’ some bar steward will make sure they abuse it. Let no one that manked about the bank bail out stand in line with their hand out for public money. Pandemic is not an ‘unknown’ entity, why has every whining bar steward that wants money not included it in their risk register / business continuity plan and set aside an element of previous years profits to provide the necessary financial security? Greed, that’s why!
  9. Same in our local Morrison’s. The wine aisle has cheap plonk at bottom shelf, mid-range middle shelf, more expensive towards the top. Bottom and middle - barren! Top about ½ depleted.
  10. Military planning and preparation is already underway for activation of military aid to the Civic Community.
  11. ?????? Leo, Boris, Trump, Pope Francis & Mary a ten year old Irish girl were on a flight with just 4 parachutes . As the plane went down they were short one parachute, they agreed Leo should go first when he said ‘I need to sort out the corona virus in Ireland,I need one ‘ & off he went, Boris was next and said ‘Im the smartest man in England, I simply cannot die, I have to survive’, and out he jumped with a parachute, next was Trump and he said ‘I’m need to keep America great and sort out this corona virus’ and out he jumped.. one parachute left, Pope Francis said , little Mary you take it, I have lived a good life, you are young with your whole life ahead of you... take it. Mary replied.. it’s ok Francis, there’s two parachutes left, the smartest man in England took my school bag..... ???
  12. I haven’t actually parted with it yet Khriss. I’ve been mulling it over (not sure if there’s a pun there or not Mull), watching the thread, considering folks reactions and contemplating next action.
  13. No rush..... ?
  14. I see your point Josh and I can't grumble that the billing issue was rectified after I queried it. But where does that leave me now? We've had an excellent description of what a good service should be, the time it ought to take and even comparable labour rates. I don't know now if I had a 2hr lash up which was billed as 4+hrs or or 4hr proper job adjusted by price to reflect the verbal estimate. For me, I'm still a bit miffed because, either way, I haven't come away with the confidence that a decent job has been done and I haven't had time, nor should I actually need to, check it over myself. There has been some fantastic feedback on the thread (except when the digger boys had a bit of a run) and I think I'll be having a discussion with the service manager when time permits. A lot of this could have been avoided if anyone at the depot when I collected had any idea or interest in what had been done but frankly, without exception, they were all completely clueless - no idea, no interest, nada!
  15. No gathering - by diktat of the government! Mange tout Marline - doesn’t apply iffum yome protesting AGAINST the government! That is so delightfully Gallic ? (I wish there was a an emoji of a man sat in a puddle of wee, pissing oneself ?) ??????️?s
  16. Hence the run on toilet rolls????
  17. Working from home?
  18. Stop it now..... That’s 2 of 2! There are certain elements of anarchy which hold appeal. What always makes me laugh is when the great unwashed, dreadlocked, socialist worker reading career protestor type call for anarchy without realising they’d be the most vulnerable if they got what they called for.
  19. Rare, but I‘m inclined to agree with you Mark. That would seem to be an eminently sensible move. Time to strip out the decades of complexity, bureaucracy and political ideologies associated with the current social security system and re-invent the wheel. Id even go so far as to recognise and acknowledge the requirement for redistribution of extreme wealth in order to achieve it. Take a brave political leader to do it though. Not sure such a beast currently graces us with there presence. Even if it were to be snuck in under cover of a global crisis - if ever, now is the opportunity.
  20. The only hope is that there is a concentrated, extreme variant which attacks only HMRC staff...
  21. Ahhhh, no, that was my shop purchase for a pack of gloves!
  22. What you've described there is exactly what I wanted - and expected from a dealer - and would have paid for. I asked the question on pick-up, have they rotated the blades? Didn't know. Could you check please. Yes, I'll have to call you back. Waiting.... I haven't had a chance to get it out and have a look myself yet but that's taking up my time and effort which are at a premium at the moment. That's not the sort of checking I want to have to do having used a 'reputable' dealer. I don't know if it's a 2 hr or a 4 hr job, but you make a very credible and understandable case for 4 hrs. That's why I asked the question before I booked it in. So now I'm left thinking did I get a low end job for a high end price? Would you say what you charge per hr labour?
  23. If poss, try and turn yr process around. Decide what you want to make, THEN mill your timber to suit the cutting list for that project. Not always possible and if only I could follow my own good ideas ?
