  1. He’s still banging on about that bloke in the tree truck he saw....
  2. They fucking work for YOU, it’s not the other way round! Their own customer charter states that they are to adopt the position that everything you say & do is genuine UNLESS they can prove otherwise. I forget the exact wording but it’s well worth looking up. @harvey b davison sounds like they played the billy big bollox with you mate. As above, well worth having a nosey at their charter. Cnuts- all of them!
  3. All I’d say is, don’t be afraid to take the bastards on. If they’ve sent you a demand, ask for it to be reviewed. That’ll take a while and then depending on the outcome, seek a Tribunal. Don’t think you have to bend over, make them work for it and you might get them bent over. There might be interest on outstanding after it’s all done & dusted but the knowledge that they have had to pay out more than you end up giving them should off set that. (I know it’s a false victory since they’re funded through the tax system but it’s a victory none the less)
  4. Maybe if just a few of the 50,000+ 6 figure salaried, shiny assed ‘managers’ in the NHS had actually managed,it wouldn’t be such a cluster now. Unless the answer really is to simply poor more money into this behemoth of administration malpractice whilst constantly bemoaning any attempt to try and generate some VfM for the taxpayers hard earned.
  5. When time and money are no barrier, these things are a useful distraction. For the time being, I doubt the courses / exams will be deliverable and in any case, the majority of the materiel is already open source and freely available. It's a 'nice to' but not getting anywhere near the top of the list for me at the moment.
  6. Odd..... Wasn't aware of what the reference might be so looked it up.... Even oddererer, still no clearer?
  7. Firewood Sat & Sun in the sunshine. Filling the time rather than trying to find the time. Got vented bags with perfect right angles like jenga towers now...
  8. Of my many talents, foretelling the future isn’t quite as strong a suit as interpreting the present. I’d perhaps be inclined to agree, since our policy seems to be based upon what is happening in London - as for hereabouts, it is genuinely, spookily, hauntingly deserted.. Freaking me out a bit!
  9. It’s not vague. It’s been perfectly clear. Work from home if possible, if you absolutely cannot work from home, go to work and implement current guidelines. That’s why travel to work is 1 of the 4 exempted activities.
  10. Did you listen on to Majeed on wireless yesterday? Prof of Risk Management presented a case that at or beyond a 6% reduction in GDP, the adverse impact on life expectancy would would present a worse outcome than C19 predicted fatality impact.
  11. Bloody hell mate, a bit harsh maybe ? Ive had a fair share of stripping artex from the walls and MDF from the stone fire places at home but never quite felt like Armageddon was necessary.
  12. He roasted me last I spoke to him.... But that was a Brexit discussion. I generally find much to agree with in his approach to discussing the more difficult subjects.
  13. It's been on, I'm trying to find a rewind so I can listen back me'self!
  14. It’s a bit of an aside, but the £billions being spent on refurb the Palace of Westminster really can be exposed as a very poor decision by the cronies that want to slink around the salubrious setting. It was already unsuitable for modern governance, at risk of flooding, over crowded and completely inadequate in a great many ways. Now we see the consequences of such antiquated work spaces having a direct and significant impact on the business of government - in no small part, directly attributable to the real estate. I was Very fortunate to have been invited to dinner with Dr Mynors the night before his Barchams briefing (2012?) and I well recall the look of absolute derision he gave me when I suggested the money might be better saved by relocating parliament to an ex-army warehouse at Bicester or Stafford, complete with on site accommodation, modern work, communication, security and leisure facilities whilst partial refurb of Westminster so that it could be handed over to NT or EH as a public monument / museum / visitor centre. I wonder if the MPs that voted the refurb budget through will be thinking differently in weeks to come? Every penny counts (especially when some other bar steward had to earn it!)
  15. I had 3 weeks of feeling like a dog - about 3 weeks ago. I put it down to over training for aN international competition 8th Feb - after that I felt rotten and there were competitors from all over Europe. Aching muscles and bones, tired, grumpy (er than usual) no temp, cough or loss of smell / taste though. If only there was a test, then maybe we’d know who’s already had it and if that might have built a degree of immunity. Or maybe I’m over analysing and being over optimist?
  16. That right there is a brilliant post! Straight out of (what used to be considered the Tory party play book - all the more noteworthy coming from J) J, please, send that in a letter to the Chancellor to remind him what colour his scarf is meant to be ????????
  17. No, been a long term prescription ? All I’d say is, alongside the usual aspects of 2 dimensional forum format potential for misunderstanding / misrepresentation of intent, we also have frustration / emotion and brevity due to time constraints to contend with when trying to interpreting posts. ive found some people can ‘read between the lines’ and interpret implied / inferred meaning without the need for a lengthy post. Sometimes I can from others posts, sometimes I miss it. Im not sure what has pressed yr buttons but happy to expand if you can be a bit more specific.
