  1. ‘King shite, it’s called milking the system. Its what everyone does but those that don’t do it quite as well as some others do still do it whilst whining about others that do it better. The ‘king neck of some (sanctimonious, hypocrites with so called socialist tendency) people...
  2. Deirdre writes: Dear Soppy pants, whilst it is our policy at The Sun to empathise with all ‘types’, you appear to present symptoms which might be better suited to the ‘special’ skills of the resident agony “aunt” at a more specialised publication such as The Socialist Worker. We have previously referred some of the more ‘challenging’ cases to Brian, the gender fluid, recently arrived in the UK, disabled, person of colour who serves such a role at that publication since ‘she’ possesses the particular skills to advise your ‘type’ more suitably (notwithstanding, Brian doesn’t have much English language - but does seem to communicate through touch and telepathy) Deidre thinks: What’s wrong with this geezer? This is the bloody current bun. There are no JC sympathies here! Get him sat on Brian’s knee for a bit of Jimmy Saville, that’ll sort him out... That bloke he keeps blathering about sounds pretty sexy though, wonder if I could get him in the office for a quick knee trembler? Deirdre goes for lunch daydreaming of this sexy beast.....
  3. Dear Soppy pants, Obviously....
  4. Dear Soppy pants, We both know we disagree which is why, for several years, I have tended to ignore the vast majority of your desperately dull, self indulgent, self righteous, hypocritical socialist ramblings. On the rare occasion that you present something remotely funny or interesting, I’m perfectly content to recognise these glimpses of humour or relevance by the application of an emoji or a written response. Equally, where you seek to counter or contradict a comment I may have made - presumably because it offends your obviously delicate Lefty disposition - rather than just scrolling on by, please don’t be surprised or offended if it attracts a response. Pledging my enduring devotion.... Bite me X
  5. See, there you go again with the self righteous double standards! AT being the broad church that it is, we will ALL come across something that isn’t to our own personal taste. The glaringly obvious solution of course is to simply scroll on by (I like that ?) rather than stop and make a negative contribution.... Whereas I will readily make what might be perceived as a negative contribution (or to put it another way - express an alternative opinion) what I don’t do, and where we seem to differ, is that I don’t get a hairy shirt on when somebody DOES express or hold an alternative view. Stop being such a blouse.
  6. But it still doesn’t hold true Felix. JRM is polite to a fault. He doesn’t instigate a brutal put down unless he is presented with the opportunity.
  7. Much obliged Guv'. ?
  8. Yome calling I stoopid loike? Yome luccy jiremmy Ccyle ain't on the telemywision anymoire else I'd be chullenging yome to a hoe down..... Now what we have demonstrated here is the classic preconceived, class based prejudice of the 'jealous class.' If you had the intellect to listen to the words rather than the style of delivery you might gain a better appreciation of the world around you. He has a posh accent so you hold that against him... What does that make you? Imagine if I said I wouldn't listen to someone because of the colour of their skin for example... That, quite rightly, would be ignorant, retarded and wholly inappropriate - but it is EXACTLY what you have just done. To extend your own logic, it is because he has a posh accent that you automatically dismiss (without due consideration) the content of his speech. I'll 'listen' to anyone, regardless how they sound or look, if they talk shite, they talk shite it's not how they look or sound that dictates that. You need to open your mind chum. I don't know you, but if I were to judge you by the standards you seem to want to promote, I'd be obliged to think you a hypocrite. Don't judge others by your own limitations From above "...throw in a a few latins phrases to impress the serfs.." Now Felix am I missing, due to the 2 dimensional nature of forum speak, the subtle irony and humour that would be obvious in a spoken conversation...?↙️? Aliena negotia curo. Excessus propriis Did you watch it Mull? I'd concede that my characteristically poor description fails to do justice to the importance of what we witnessed. You must have taken at least some pleasure in Bercow's obvious discomfort - it was written all over his face! The horrible, odious, troll like little man being so obviously and publicly outclassed at his own game. Did that not even raise a small sense of satisfaction - despite the fact it came from the hands of JRM? On a more serious note, and to the real point, and the real opportunity for improvement which that video demonstrates - beyond any doubt. The sort of disruptive, negative, borderline abusive behaviour which has become the anticipated norm in parliament - most notably, but not exclusively by the SNP - will be met by polite but, if necessary, savage intellectual counter point which will, I have absolutely no doubt, consistently expose the instigator for the cretin they are.... That Sir, is to the benefit of us all - despite the posh accent which seems to so openly offend those that are more influenced by the how that the what.
  9. Now come on ladies, if ™ could make a monkey of Comrade Corbyn, he’ll be knocked into a cocked hat with Boris and JRM at the despatch box. You know that deep, deep, sinking feeling (we’ve all had it at some point) before going to a particularly shitty job... Well that’s how JC is feeling right now! He can’t wait for Summer recess and is hoping that he’ll quietly shuffle of his mortal coile before Parliament reconvenes just so as to avoid the embarrassment! Like him or loath him - seeing JRM take a huge dump on Bercow, the SNP AND the LibDems all in one serving is a pleasure to watch!
  10. JRM's early performance as Leader of the House - Brilliant!! Bercow well and truly shat on.... and any other muppet with a poorly conceived and / or presented question well and truly exposed as idiots. All wrapped up in a thoroughly entertaining, sharp witted and authoritative delivery which should, I hope, cut though much of the BS which has (and has been allowed to) stifle the effective function of Parliament.
  11. Very fair points there. Mutual care and consideration is, I'm sure, practiced by the vast majority of cyclists and vehicle operators. The minority, in both camps, generate considerable passion and some quality entertainment. That said, since the recent prosecution of the van driver (who was the first husband of my mate's wife) after the death of a cyclist which resulted from him not passing fully in the opposite lane (I think it was classified as careless or reckless driving or something like), if there isn't the room to pass fully into the opposite lane, I simply sit and wait. A few minutes delay versus a life changing (and a life taking) experience, it's a no brainer.
  12. If you go to the HSE website there is lots of important info about HAVS and how to monitor, manage and record exposure. Its imperative for employers to be across the detail (as the history of HSE prosecutions will demonstrate) but of equal importance for the self employed given the health implications and potential loss of earning capacity. In reality, it’s probably only the larger companies and LAs that will have a suitably recorded and implemented ‘system’ - which is why they have (what appears to be) excessive staff numbers and a ridiculous frequency of rest breaks giving the impression of being a bunch of idling slackers but (in this case) Id perhaps understand why they have so many breaks ?
  13. Here’s (what I thought) a really good animation aimed at school children which touches on the subject of inter connectivity between trees, roots & fungal associations. It might be a bit too advanced for here but worth a punt.... Alternatively, there’s always the drill ‘n fill option ? but bare in mind, it may have greater adverse implications than initially thought....
  14. Can’t help but raise an eyebrow at the irony of a “good practice” document aimed at LAs which does little more than illustrate the kind of “good practice” engineering solutions LAs seek to impose upon private sector tree management professionals. Highway tree management: operations note 51 - GOV.UK WWW.GOV.UK Examples of good practice tree and highway management with respect to trees growing within the curtilage of...
  15. Ecologist mate who lives nearby. He recently did me a favour so this was a return favour. Didn't think to ask.
  16. Shot down is a bit strong (and not as I recall it Mr Stubby.) I recall it being an impassioned discussion with powerful and credible cases presented for both the prosecution and the defence. Must be due another soon eh?
  17. No I ‘King won’t!
  18. Rare old job today! Putting big chunks of timber UP a tree ? That's a first!!
  19. I still haven't heard via MSM. I can't help but think it paints a fairly accurate picture of the general ambivalence (despite grand political promises and apparently empty gestures) towards environmental awareness. What a lost opportunity. With public engagement and awareness via recent protests probably at an all time high, it "should" have been an obvious area to attract greater attention.
  20. Who’s gone to Environment Sec then? I’ve seen nothing on the news yet?? A sad reflection of where that department appears to feature in relation to the other headliners. A missed opportunity to embrace and overtly demonstrate the importance of that brief. Gove, albeit easy to not like, will be a loss to Environment brief.
  21. I don’t think the stats to properly answer your question even exist. Im not sure there is any energetic push from any notable industry party to filter out the homeowner / farmer / have a go hero figures from legit Arb activities either. Panic and sensationalism lends itself quite well to justification for more courses, qual’s, refreshers etc - all of which are revenue streams in their own right. I suspect the instances of genuine arb related accidents pales into complete insignificance when measured by number of practitioners / number of incidents and then compared to a sample of other activities (driving for example.)
  22. Looks like the aftermath of a machine with shear / grab. CornwallLive are a dreadful local media outlet. Video looks more like hedgerow coppicing to me. There are a few comments on a local tree swingers page so might hear a more accurate account at some point.
  23. CornwallLive - a notoriously amateurish and inaccurate media source. https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/mass-destruction-trees-ruined-town-3129293
  24. Nothing a good broadside wouldn't fix!
  25. See? See what you've done...? Now he's getting his oar in...
