  8. I'm always looking for signs like this that summers on its way to re establish my recently faltering optimism in the weather. Its 20 degrees here today and the parks are busy. Had to get up at 4.30 yesterday morning and when I left the dawn chorus was in full swing which made getting up at that time of morning that much more pleasant.
  9. Cheers Gensetsteve, this one has done 145,000 so I'm seeing this as a mid life crisis hopefully.
  10. Yes that does make perfect sense now you explain it, to keep the head in the same position and height as before to save too much adjustment afterwards. Thanks Better find my easy-outs before I start undoing the bolts I think.
  11. Thanks all for the continued advise, went to order the gasket but what thickness or notch. (1.3mm/1 notch-1.4mm/2 notch-1.5mm/3 notch) and what determines this?? Thanks
  12. Hi Inky and welcome to the forum. You could try The Pruning of Trees, Shrubs and Conifers by George E Brown. I've found it very useful. Its just been revised by Tony Kirkham of Kew to modernise it. Good book to have
  13. Thats ok, my 8 shredded wheat every morning will sort that out.
  14. Thanks for the tips people, just got to find the time to do it now. W
  15. Thanks mate, I think for the sake of 50 quid I will get the head skimmed while the heads off, makes sense really. Can you leave enough room if you leave the turbo attached to the manifold ? W
  16. Mine has started blowing at the rear of the engine, will get new bolts and gasket and replace myself. Anybody else done there's and have any do's or dont's ? Will check with a straight edge to see if I need a skim. Cheers Warren
  17. Have ordered a 2 L one, should last me half hour on those hot days. Ice sounds good
  18. Truely hope this never happens but if I found myself in hospital after cutting myself with the saw, it just doesnt sound right saying 'it happened because I was thirsty'. You are right though when it comes to companies exagerating the needs to hydrate with sugar loaded glow in the dark drinks. Water does the job
