  1. Not as bad as windfarms though. Solar panels work all the while it's light, whereas those great big steel blights which use so much carbon building and erecting only work if there's enough wind. Or not too much. Not wonder the countries that pioneered them are pulling them down. Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  2. Experienced handcutter seeking work. Own equipment, PPE, insurance etc. Will travel throughout the UK if the money is right. Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  3. I'd never thought of that. Cunning plan sir! Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  4. Something we all take for granted and don't think about until it's too late. Wishing you all the best on your road to recovery Andy Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  5. Thanks everyone for your advice. I went for the Bahco eventually - I'll let you know if I manage to break it!
  6. Naval school? RHS? Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  7. I'd better be careful then,as I suffer from pasty retention Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  8. I think the old stuff used to melt the rubber of the tube and the patch and literally weld them together, whereas the new stuff it's probably just an everything-friendly glue. Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  9. Well said, that man! Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  10. In the absence of any Reg Coates ones it looks like a straight choice between Bahco and Oregon, which in the pictures look remarkably similar apart from the colour Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  11. Just been looking at those as I've heard good things about them. Not too dear either! ( hope he's not reading this or he'll put the price up!)
  12. A bit of both really, thinning some quite big stuff out so it will inevitably hang up whenever it can! Never tried your method, but it definitely sounds worth a try thanks
  13. Can't find any with a quick search. I think it was one of these I used to use back in the day - it was steel, half inch by inch and about six foot long. It was a bit mighty to carry around all the while, but a useful bit of kit when needed!
  14. Can anyone recommend a good long (130 cm ish) felling lever? I have a short Husky one which I find to be a bit bendy, and thought I'd ask opinions on which long one to buy for an up-coming contract
  15. My feelings exactly, although the beating with the stick bit may be a little extreme. Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  16. There are a few companies offering the same to truck drivers who want to emigrate. There are rumours that once you're there you're trapped working with them and that they give you the worst trucks and all the bad jobs. I don't know how true that is our even if it happens in other industries though - just a heads-up really. Would love to go out there to work though Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  17. You may need to buy it's sister-ship, the Faun, to operate in a push-pull configuration Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  18. Picture as promised ( I hope! )
  19. Sorry - will try sending pic from computamabob when I get home Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  20. Would this Unipower do you? Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  21. We'll be going tomorrow "if the weather's nice" Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  22. If you want to get anywhere get a Defender. If you want to get back as well get a Toyota. Having said that I wouldn't swap my Defender for anything. Except maybe a Mog! Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  23. It seems that a dangerous trend has been started. People selling trees on ebay is one thing, but putting them on the roofrack of the family saloon to bring them home like that is clearly unadvisable. Fore and aft maybe, but crossways like that is just asking for trouble Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  24. May well be going along if ghe weather is more clement than of late Sent from my GT-I9100P using Tapatalk 2
  25. One thing I can almost guarantee he'll ask you is to list the "Do Nots" associated with a hung-up tree. I listed mine too quickly while counting them off on my fingers (on both hands btw!) and he missed one and had to prompt me cos I didn't know which one he'd missed, so take your time on it! Good luck:thumbup1:
