  1.
  2. Latter on? Clear as mud:001_tt2:
  3. That's a shame, it was a real good authority to work with when Jonathon Cocking was there as the TO.
  4. 'Old School' - pre 2000  This is going to make a lot of us feel positively ancient.
  5. You may be lucky, several of our local authorities sites are under construction and have been for over two years, some we can't access because we use the wrong browser and some just don't appear to have one. Try searching TPO's first, you may get a link to search a map. If not they may be in a layer in an UDP interactive plan
  6. Potential! All I need to do is draw some circles.
  7. Thanks Paul, I couldn't even begin to think of the terminology to use to search myself. I can vaguely remember one of the speakers at your seminar talking about this and how to set things up, but there was just too much to take in/follow and make notes on. I seem to have got this scaled right now, or at least if I measure a metre on the scale bar it corresponds.
  8. Magnetic bases are brilliant. My last sealey one got left attached to the pickup chassis one morning before it went out. It was still attached that afternoon , but flat:thumbdown:
  9. Love the convenience of them, but our lads had been pumping grease into thin air for an unknown length of time recently. Okay if they're visually inspected frequently as they're convenient and easy to use solo. I'm fairly sure that it's a straight swop for a normal metric nipple onto the flywheel bearings, I think (may be wrong) that the bank has a fine thread but not the other end.
  10. Trying to set up a site plan, I've downloaded a map in a DWG file. First problem: It's in Layout only and the tree part of the software only works in Model! Exporting to Model Space sorted that - so far so good. The problem is the map measurements. Measuring the scale bar on the plan, 10m on the scale bar measures ( using the measure function) reads as 0.4276:confused1: Using topographical supplied plans, I normally measure a road (8-10m wide) and then depending on the position of the decimal point, I know whether to enter the drawing units as mm,cm or m in the drawing set-up tab. I'm guessing OS originally drew this non-metric, so I'm struggling now to input metric scaled tree locations/canopy spreads. I'm guessing this is a common issue and not too difficult to sort out, but my head hurts today Help, anyone?
  11. Ya think so? Now what could really go wrong?
  12. Mortgage report on a shrinkable clay by any chance?
  13. I don't think Matt would deny the assistance:biggrin:, but that's the beauty of AT, a resource to gain information and knowledge. To give Matt credit, he was up until the early hours trying (successfully I believe) to help someone else on a tree ident. and no Stubby, it wasn't a hornbeam. I know if generally, I have a query or something I'm unsure about, the search function on here is one of my first port of calls. The best thing too is that this doesn't close at 5PM on a Friday. Thanks Spud, for helping Matt, to help me:thumbup1:
  14. Be nice, that comments probably put 10% on the bill
  15. And your own dogs rolling in it...... I'll admit that that thought crossed my mind:lol:
  16. Just ribbing him, I was meant to pick a saw up when he got home. You know those jobs you wish you'd never started? This saws turning into one of those:sneaky2:
  17. I hate adverts but this years John Lewis ad is brilliant https://m.johnlewis.com/christmas-advert
  18. :lol:Have you forgot to ring someone?
  19. But a jacket's a lot cheaper to replace. How amicable is the client to deal with? Could you clean the oil up enough and repaint all of the drive?
  20. Playing devils advocate. Would you also propose felling all the Lawsons and Leyland's from national collections and arboretums? I think there's an attitude that the commonplace has no value.
  21. Did ours recently. Got a bit of bar with a hole in it, put it across the frame and with a suitable bolt 'draw' the anvil out of the tight slot, using the threaded hole in the anvil itself. Flip it over and put it back. Job done
  22. That's because they can be a bugger to get out to turn or change.
  23. I'd agree with Matt
  24. Should have took his own 'bags for life'.
