  1. Pic's or it never happened:biggrin:
  2. Talking to a serving police officer, a client, a few evenings back and he claimed most of his working hrs were consumed with; a) paperwork and report writing, b) domestics - many regulars where it's a peacekeeping mission c) mental health issues - with no place of safety to take them to, same old, same old. He reckoned the above amounted to three quarters of his working week:001_rolleyes: Just to throw a question into the mix. If terrorists are fighting a war with the west, should we really be relying on those not trained to fight a war?
  3. Is that a racing car type steering wheel, that you put on and take off to get into the seat? Or does it steer with a pair of molegrips attached to the steering column? (I've actually seen a tractor like that:biggrin:)
  4. Only 984? I'd like to see more?
  5. Wish it was only one. 3998, 5837, 8545 here in the office. At home for course work is parts of the old one for transplanting rootballed trees, another one on soil testing (PI, MPI and the like)and I don't know what else. It's an expensive past time for the individual to keep informed. But yes, 3998 definitely or even TreeLifes abridged version, which I think is around £35.
  6. Do you come in search of my posts to correct me, Chris? I thought, at 3.30 this morning, that 20 t may have been a bit inaccurate but used it, anyway, to try to get across the point that something was wrong and the OP shouldn't be having issues. I photo of the stone might be informative. Another question. Is the geotextile cellwebs own (other makes are available) or a B&Q/Ebay type weed fabric? I've recently written a site specific method statement for it's use for a drive in an RPA, so should have known better:blushing:
  7. I wonder how many people actually have access to the standards? I do know of a couple of LAs that didn't at one time.
  8. The sub base material shouldn't really be so sharp as to puncture the top, separating textile. And the textiles should be of good enough quality not tear. Something sounds amiss, 3D confinement systems are designed for loads up to 20 tonnes, if I remember correctly, so you should be having construction probs with a patio.
  9. And if anyone survives for more than a couple of months the UK gets a load of fishing and oil rights. Win win situation:thumbup1:
  10. We'll eventually bow down and bow down and make it their stream, you watch.
  11. Would you class the spectators who turned up to watch the caning of two gay men, along with others, because it is against Sharia law, as nutters or just normal people?
  12. Okay I see now. I thought that after getting outline consent, a 'full' application was necessary, more or less an application in its own right. If I understand this correctly now, the next step after outline is basically to sort out the details (the Reserved Matters app) seems like outline consent has a bit more legal standing than I'd previously assumed.
  13. Or worse, you go to the pub with your mates, leaving your wife and kids at home alone!
  14. Sorry Jules but your answer has just made me realise that I've a gaping hole in my knowledge. Can you explain, or anyone else, what status outline planning consent actually has? I don't know why, but I've always assumed that it acknowledged that, in principal and subject to other conditions, the LA would allow development of whatever type (residential, commercial etc) on the site. I've assumed that full consent could be refused for any number of reasons, even if outline had been consented?
  15. Good intention Paul, but the way our LA is with funding, everyone in the council acknowledges that services are suffering. So it all becomes a bit pointless complaining. I feel for the front line staff, we speak to planning daily and staff numbers are just falling and falling, the workload isn't and they do the best they can. It's a poor situation but the 'girls' in the office stay in good humour and always get us an answer to our searches that day. Remarkable really when 50% of the time the computers are offline. Familiarity with the position has certainly improved my own patience
  16. Depends how high you can reach
  17. Don't matter who owns it. With LA trees locally and restricted budgets we can occasionally do work, to a pre-agreed spec on their trees- otherwise the injured party will wait months cos it isn't urgent.
  18. And get an inspector with no arboricultural knowledge to decide:biggrin: is it only me that feels we're going backwards?
  19. Does the schedule identify an area, a group or individual trees? I'm trying to clarify the question. I.e. An area order and you think the trees weren't there at the time it was made, or a group order where the species present now is different to the species identified on the schedule? Assuming the former, I've got the TO to confirm that the trees in question are, in his opinion, younger and therefore not protected. Not much use I'm afraid.
  20. Looks like you're asking to create two large wounds opposite one another. Guessing at the area of exposed heartwood that this would create I don't think he's being overly unreasonable. Sorry, my humble opinion based on the photograph
  21. Have you seen the original order?
  22. If the application for outline planning consent contains sufficient detail to inform the feasibility of the design, wouldn't or shouldn't that be enough? It consent is given, in outline, no tree works could be carried out until full planning consent (with conditions) was in hand. Sorry if I'm missing something, but I don't see why anyone's asking for a tree works app at present? Would or should a PA give consent for tree works based on a development that may or may not go ahead?
  23. It doesn't. Only full planning consent. EDIT: That'll teach me to read ALL the posts before posting.
  24. It's magic:thumbup1:
  25. Couldn't agree more. A well trained male of the species 'knows' that that clothes should remain where they are taken off. After this, they will appear in a condition suitable for re-use - mended if necessary, washed and ironed, in a wardrobe or cupboard. Failure of this protocol leads to adverse affects due to the malfunction of the cosmic alignment.
