  1. impact driver. always works. failing that its the hard way of stopping the engine turning.
  2. the exhuast is just the two screws helf way up the saw underneath. they are not in the plastic but you get to the through the holes in the plastic. oh and remove the chain cover and the plastic around the clutch, the exhaust will rattle out the side. ensure you retrieve the old gasket aswell. new exhaust will slide in, hopefully you will have a gasket that holds the screws, it does make it easier.
  3. yeah i know. its in the manual. but this one is working fine. was the meter valve, on inspection you could see the worn ridge on the end. new one in and a tune on screws as they where well out.
  4. Cheers guys. It runs good, just being a pig on tick over, but it was running sweet yesterday. Wasn't overly concerned about the comp to be honest.
  5. i got stung on saturday hand is just going down. hurt like hell. and was a bee as the sting was left in. clearing up after a connie hedge removal.
  6. will see. i havnt got any timber big enough to test it out on. only small stuff compared to an 880. :lol: need some big red woods to fell with it just to make sure:thumbup: it powers up fine, did run the tip of the bar into a bit but couldnt tell. the coil is now 3 paper thickness away from wheel. had a very good phone call today...... person. "do i know what the torque is for an 090 head?" me "not off the top of my head sir, will have to look at the manual for you, if you would hold on for a minute i will check or i will call you back." person, "what kind of saw mechanic are you? you dont even know the torque settings for a saw? think i will go to someone who does know, you sound like you dont know anything" didnt even get a chance to give a reply......:sneaky2:
  7. sorted the 230 out today. meter valve was leaking and the end had worn, replaced and reset arm hieght. all good now. but compression is down to around 140-145 psi when hot so will need replacing soon. its used behind the chipper. looked at the 880 aswell. nothing wrong with flywheel key or coil. the coil was a little bit close to the flywheel as i couldnt get a piece of paper in the gap. so reset the gap. and managed to start it without ripping my arm off.
  8. maybe. its not immidiate tho. once it starts running for a bit it stalls out and fuel is pouring into the air box.
  9. misery. starts around 07.00 hrs and goes away at around 22.30hrs when i go sleep.
  10. a day for stihl today. ms200t, very fast idle. butterfly sticking open. 880, tries to rip your arm off when starting, checking this one tomoz, going straight to the flywheel. 230 i think, running funny, took air filter off and there is excess fuel going into carb, so checking meter valve. and a km combi tool that had broken its pull cord, its brand new aswell. new cord and all is well, no signs of wear around the pull start assembly. or sharp edges. this pull start assembly is strange, uses two springs on either side to create a delay in the pull so it builds up then just pulls, bit like the elastic pullers but not.

  17. stihl 441. leaking oil from under the exhaust and smoking. a broken gasket was to blame. resealed and ready for collection.

    saturdays shout. rib in difficulty off sandgate beach. lifeboat launched at 07.50, stood down at folkestone as rib was able to make way onto beach.
  19. I went to the doctor with a steering wheel down my underpants. He said, 'What's happened?' I said, 'I dunno, but it's driving me nuts.
  20. misery. helping take a connie hedge out today, was going well until the winch broke and then i got stung by something trying to eat me on my hand. serendipity. managed to get a hilux back on the road after a brake pipe burst, used my tool to make new ends and some pipe i had for the land rover. easy 20 min fix in total, better than 3 days of waiting for parts.
  21. that is brilliant. :lol::lol:
