  1. i got given a husky262xp today by an old boy we were doing a bit of work for, He wouldn't except anything for it just said he'd be glad if i got a bit of use as it was way to heavy for him now. It's been sat for about 5-6 years is there anything i should do before i try starting it?? I'm going to give it a bit of a service first but after that i'm a little lost:confused1:
  2. Nice work mate, i do a little bit of blacksmithing myself but mostly green woodworking tools like draw knives hook knives and carving blades and bowl turning hooks, going to have a go at some hinges for a cleft gate i made last weekend. Really like the latch it's not far off a drawing i did of the design i want
  3. if your having trouble getting the line down try using some heavy duty fishing braid instead, i use 40kg power pro. it will put meters on the distance of a shot as well you could pull your rope up with it but it's a little like cheese wire on the hands so i pull a throw line up then pull my rope up with that, If you put the braid on a cheap fishing reel you could mount it to the underside of your cross bow, would look slick as
  4. what rope is the main part spliced out of?? looks a bit like marlow lsk static!! is it possible to splice static line??
  5. could some1 explain the coos bay cut please??? I'm not sure if i've used that1 or seen it or if i know it by a different name
  6. I'm afraid first climber would have been told at 11am to get himself down an jog on home!! There wouldn't have been a second day after a performance like that!!! wtf??
  7. Number1 is seven and number 2 is 2 1/2 love them both dearly Both completely different oldest is very mature for her age into stuff that i'm only just getting my head round myself and the youngest is wild as they come and will happily ride my staffie round the garden bare arsed in a pair of pink wellies wearing a husky ground helmet, my mum says she just like i was:blushing: i was quite settled on just having 2 but the mrs was having none of it as she's 1 of 8!!! i was swiftly told that she mite consider stopping at 6:001_huh:
  8. congratulations grandad:thumbup: they all count
  9. don't worry mate just take what you can from the situation, learn from it and move on! My mind has been taken away from the job recently and although i haven't had any close 1's i've lost my nerve a bit!
  10. amazing times right the way through!! it would take me longer than to walk 80ft
  11. Thanks every1, this will be my 3rd all ready got 2 gorgeous little girls I'm as excited this time as i was the 1st and 2nd and thanks for the tip to bite my tongue:thumbup: Learnt after the 1st that it's better to bite it or you'l probably loose it:001_tt2:
  12. Just got back from Shrewsbury hospital with the mrs from her 12 week scan! Everything's good and we've been given a due date of the 12 of december:thumbup: absolutely over the moon Must admit had a little anxiety this time, don't know why but was just a bit nervy before we went in
  13. amazing effort on that mate!! Always wanted to custom make a gunstock, is that your 1st attempt??? Got me on the species tho, i'm not sure I've got a big piece of acacia burr that i'd like to make 1 out of
  14. thing is lofty only ever followed orders this chap did it off his own back through choice, i don't see how you can even put them in the same picture to be honest
  15. Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury's New Entertainment Venue :: theatre severn SHREWSBURY There you go fella Shud be a good night, i find it hard to form an opinion on the man myself when he's achieved so much at the age that he did, especially as none of the males in my family have lived much past 60 due to ill health, i'm willing to listen to anyone who has something to say based on what they've done not what they think!
  16. Just booked my self a ticket to see sir ranulph fiennes tour when it hits shrewsbury:thumbup: Can't wait the blokes a living legend:thumbup1:
  17. There's a chap on ebay who makes them similar to the lyon rope bags, There £18 or £20 each depending on what size you have and there absolutely bomb proof!! my 2 have out lasted about 6 or 7 of the stein ones and are still going strong, think he started of making divers bottle bags so knows how to stitch em strong his ebay shop is called walrus bags and bits, have a look i'd recommend them highly
  18. Tickled me that 1 mate:biggrin: Same here, couple of over nighters but nothing serious, and i'm a good boy these days:thumbup:
  19. I like that baggy, very nice! Friend makes some similar 1's but hollows out a couple of sections in the middle and finishes the top with a point, giving them a bit of a gothic look. and seasoned oak is super tough!! i've had good quality wood chisels snap clean in half when working with reclaimed oak on traditional timber framing, tend to carry 2 sets of chisels when i do it know 1 for if i have to strike the tool and the other set i keep super sharp and use the as parring chisels
  20. if i find any1 raiding nests by me government backed or not i'll tie the tail of there rope to the motor and drag them out the tree!! no smiley face!!
  21. Same here tony, a young family has put my fishing on the back burner for a while but i wouldn't have it any other way. still manage a couple of trips a year to the pembrokeshire coast deep water spinning for the pollock off the cliffs and the odd night barbel fishing on the Teme but thats it really, it used to be my obsession for a very long time and a few of my mates are hardcore specimen hunters
  22. Second that:thumbup: I'd go for floating dog biscuits, i'd fire a few in to a few spots and keep an eye open for taking fish while your setting up then feed just 5 or 6 biscuits every couple of minutes to get em competing for the bait, then over cast the fish an gently tease the hookbait into the feeding fish, Easy to prepare hook baits too, just put a couple of handfulls of dog biscuits in to a collinder and pour a kettle full of boiling water all over them then put em in a sealed tub and leave em till morning, they'l look exactly the same as the free offerings but will feel spongy and you can push a hook straight through em! hope that helps a little, floater fishing is my top summer method an tends to sort the better fish out. Tight lines Nellybelly
  23. I'd go for the 12inch personally mate if i need a bigger bar just get your 290 sent up.
  24. ms200 or 201 mate, i've used a husky 338 a couple of times recently and was quite impressed with it, they absolutely howl, not sure what there like for life span tho as it wasn't my saw and i'm not sure how long it had been in use.
  25. Glad i'm not the only 1!! i'd expect my groundy 2 thrash me with conkers and the bigshot if i ever start that 1!!
