  1. I have the following avaliable for sale in the next few weeks: 3x Oak stems roughly 8m3 of clean timber in all 3 with the largest being 1m DBH and clean for 5-6m. Also some smaller lengths above the first branch. There will also be around an 8 wheeler load of sycamore and oak firewood cut to 2.4m lengths. Located in virginia Water, Surrey Let me know if there is anything of interest
  2. Morning All, I will have a few Ash butts for sale and coming roadside soon near to Uckfield in East Sussex. They are all woodland grown and will be from around 18" diameter upwards, some are straight some are a bit curvy. There will be between 5 and 10 and a few Oaks from the same block. If anyone is interested pm or give me a call and come an have a look as it seems a shame to send it away from firewood. Cheers David 07896 036 437
  3. Cheers for the replies, Im aware that the budget is fairly low however its a better option for me than keep hiring kit in. I have used a roofmount before and it was a really good set up that seemed a good compromise for lots of tasks.
  4. Hi all, I will be looking at picking up a new forwarding unit over the next couple of months but I would like a bit of info from the guys that are using them every day as to the best option. Currently I use a ari tractor and forwarding trailer that I hire in or the same tractor with a 6t winch. Typically I will be extracting 600T hardwood firewood, 50T hardwood sawlogs and a few hundred ton of softwood as well per year, would also like to use it for chipping and a bit of arb work where possible and im looking at spending around £15k. So Tractor and larger trailer similar to my current set up - cheapest and simplest option but I cant chip with it or use it in tight spaces as easily and there are less lifting options. Tractor with a roof mount - more expensive but can be used for chipping, tidying up in the yard is easier, can winch and lift at the same time but can be unstable on slopes. Finally - a purpose built forwarder and keep hiring the tractor for winching - better productivity but all the drawbacks of haulage cant be used for chipping or arb work and heavy on maintenence etc. So what are peoples thoughts, what do you run from the above and has it been really good or seriously bad? Any pros/Cons that I havnt thought of?
  5. Without wishing to rock the boat (or Trailer) I was under the impression that trailers with a steering drawbar could only be towed by agricultural vechicles ie Tractors etc? if not then I imagine a smaller version of the one pictures would be great although the payload would be minimal once the weight of the trailer and crane are taken into account.
  6. Does anyone have any details of biomass buyers in the south east. I have had trouble getting hold of my usual guy at stobarts. Cheers

  8. Customer has asked if it is possible to spray and area to kill off the bramble and nettles but not to harm the blubells and daffs that are growing beneath? I have suggested spraying when the flowers have finished growing but I think she wants it done sooner. Any other ideas?

  18. As per title I have a small amount of seasoned cord for sale near Uckfield, East Sussex. Hardwood stack measures - 8.2m long, 2.1m high, and 2.8m deep. Softwood stack measures - 6.7m long, 1.8m high and 2.8m deep I have left my blue book somewhere so I cant give you any idea of volume at the moment but I would say there is a bit less than an 8 wheeler- look at the pictures yourself Has large access gate but the ground is very soft at the moment so it would be best to remove with a tractor but up to you. Offers for the whole lot please, either PM on here or txt me on 07896 036 437-If you call I wont answer on a Sunday so leave a message.
