  1. like all things using it well seasoned get rid of the bark mix it in with other stuff very soon alot of wood will be valuable for firewood
  2. thats the one :thumbup: the bottom of the linkage has been rubbing on the saw body and its a little bit grooved i bought this saw from ebay and just putting it back together and it should be a runner
  3. its very good firewood i had a stack of round timber 18 mths ago and cut it up this winter all the bark come off pretty quickly when cut & split it came apart in ring segments and smelt very nice and burnt well a few sparks but nothing like some softwood's :thumbup:
  4. hello spud iam looking for a peice for a 254xp its a peice of plastic or a rubber grommet it fits onto the main body of the saw where the throttle linkage slides through it at the moment the throttle linkage is too low and it isnt connecting to the trigger on the handle i was wondering if anybody had one too sell or new exact name or part number thanks

  7. didnt yours start well mine was ok only problem i had was the AV rubber mount next to the chain oil filler didnt last long
  8. hello steve and adam my original 115 done years of thinning and clear felling back in the 90's great saw iam so happy there still producing this model and kept it non cat :thumbup:
  9. if you want a chainsaw for £500 in the 500cc class there are as harvey says the dolmar PS-5105 a good straightforward, reliable , lively workhorse and also there is the 115 an old school saw which is proven reliable and powerful both saws would be good value for money :thumbup:

  11. i will put the aspen in the two new dolmar's and the tanaka combi and give it a go i will let know you next week :thumbup: i think that terravac we had from you is what put me off from liking the kohler engine
  12. called in today and saw mr garden kit today and bought some aspen to use in the new dolmars and looked at some lovely new shiny machinery :thumbup: thanks barry nice to meet you

  14. i think the european models had the red coil and usa models had the grey coil then in march 2010 they updated the models to a black coil :thumbup:
  15. had a package come today first sold in 1986 and still going strong
  16. didnt they change the crank and altered the flywheel and made the fins bigger to get the extra engine coooling pre 2006
  17. hello TCD i just checked the dolmar two stroke oil bottles and the dolmar professional systems oil is fully synthetic and API TC; JASO FD; ISO-L-EGD so good stuff:thumbup:

  19. hello ian you are ok they recomend the fully synthetic oils i had a consignment of fully syntheic dolmar 2-stroke oil arrive today and its ISO-L-EGD api tc jaso fd the stihl HP super is iso-l-egd and its what they all use this engine failure is a rare thing i had alot of communication with them about reliability before deciding to sell there products and you have a very good warranty :thumbup:
  20. thats a shame mate thats happened i think the us models did come to the dealers quite lean to meet the emmissions laws i changed the cat muffler on mine and adjusted the carb what year is your saw mine is 2010 usa model

  22. its a pain finding long bars for the D033 MOUNTS i put 8mm studs in the PS-9010 and now use a 32'' oregen bar with the D009 MOUNT i have'nt tried different studs in the sachs dolmar but i was talking with stubby about the fitment of husky 3120xp bar on the larger dolmar
  23. yes defianteley D033 OREGON MOUNT the bolts are just straight 14mm studs they arent flanged bolts like the PS/DCS 9010 but the bars are interchangeable between the two models :thumbup:

  25. yes they do two models PS-222TH 22CC 2.5KG 10'' BAR OR 12'' BAR 3/8 OR 1/4 PS-3410TH 34CC 3.5KG 10'' 12'' 14'' BAR 3/8 both saws can have the option of lightweight carving bar these new saws are made by dolmar some of the older dolmar top handled models where made in japan for dolmar
