  1. On the Plane? Had to take it lower than I wanted.... The customer wanted even more off but managed to talk them around and compromise.
  2. Its easy to get a work permit, doesnt even cost much. There seems to be heaps of jobs over here too.
  3. Maybe start a new topic with pics of yours Done....
  4. After commenting on a picture I thought it be best to front up with some of the work i've done! Been having trouble up loading pictures so i hope this works. Not quite finished in the second pic, just need to remove my anchor point. But can see how much the trees been reduced by.
  5. I don't see any posts by ecotreecare of trees he has reduced? ... That is a very fair and valid point. Dont talk the talk if you cant walk the walk! I've tried putting pics on but to struggling to upload them!
  6. I'm not having a personal attack at him. He asked for peoples opinions and that’s mine. He has been completely honest and brave putting pictures up and I respect that. However if it is/was his first reduction why not ask someone for a bit of advice beforehand. If you look closely at the pictures the tree hasn’t been reduced in height… I’m not sure what you would call it but I wouldn’t say that is “decent shape and decent work”
  7. How long have you been doing tree work for? It seems to me (no offence) that you don't really know what your doing when it comes to pruning. Like already said so many times in here.... Work with experienced guys for a few years, learn the ropes. Personally I think the trees ruined now and needs felling. I think you just need some more experience.
  8. We've not had any major work come in for about two weeks. Still getting smaller stuff but not enough to keep us busy. It will come in…. always does. You just have to be pro-active about finding work. Always good when you can diversify too…
  9. I don't charge by the hour I charge by the cube split. You can work your a** off and still only get your hourly rate. Also if you have a break down questions get asked. I charge $20 a cube (£10) plus GST if the woods already cut up. We do around 30 cube a day. Looking at buying a processor to get it upto 50- 60.
  10. Been to see the accountant and mr bank man today. Asked him for lots of money to buy a new chipper and firewood processor!
  11. What do you mean by prune? Reduce, thin, lift? No offence but how long have you been doing tree work properly for?
  12. We sell bags exactly the same size, we get around 18 -20 logs in too. They get sold for $10 (5 pounds) each or $7 (3 pound 50) wholesale. That’s including VAT. I guess it depends what the bloke down the road sells them for.
  13. Could I be so rude and have a look at a copy please? Making some up to try and make my life easier (more organised) but struggling for ideas
  14. "What do you hate about the Bandit 90's?" Maybe hate is too strong a word. The one I used here in NZ was pretty useless! It was always left in the yard. Just sold my 10” Morbark today…. Was looking at buying either a new BC1000 XL or a Bandit. Leaning more towards the Bandit 95xp. I don’t really care what things look like as long as they work.
  15. That is the older model you were using too. I think they have made the newer ones a bit more user friendly. I am currently looking to upgrade my 10” Morbark. I hate the Bandit 90’s would have a BC1000xl any day! The Bandit 990’s however….
  16. I'be just started selling bags this year. Some people just don't want to buy a couple of cube at a time. Made my own bagging device out of scrap metal and some air conditioning duct. I only had to buy the hinge! Sell them for $10 a bag (about £5 ) sold a couple of hundred bags all ready and were not really into winter yet!
  17. Putting a bit of oil in the fuel tank isn't a biggy, done it a few times..... Like you, at the end of a day when your tired. Just flush it out with 2 stroke and fuel it up properly. I worked for a guy and one of his lads topped up the combi can with diesel. Needless to say the saws didn't run too good!
  18. Daughter was born today, wife doing well. Three days off, back to work on monday with a smile on my face
  19. I totally agree..... But new if you can. First chipper I bought was a Vermeer 625i good wee chipper, still have it. Second was a 10" Morebark. Good machine but selling it to buy new.
  20. HAKKI PILKE 2XS+ Carry Are they any good? Wanting to get a transportable processor. Are these any good? Does anyone have one? Thoughts please!!
  21. We never pay to tip chip. We swap it for beer or take it back to the yard to sell on. $20 + GST (about £10+ VAT) a cube delivered. The least we deliver is 10 cube.
