  1. I never realised procurement of fire wood was so involved and complex . I have a stove , and a splitter . That's all . 🙂
  2. It will still leave carbon deposits in your engine though unlike an Alkylate fuel , but yes a good option .
  3. They certainly do . 🙂 Ricinus Communis . Castor bean plant .
  4. This I have done many moons a go in some of my old British iron .
  5. R40 I seem to remember is a " castor bean/vegetable " based oil made for 4 stroke engines and should changed more often than a mineral or synthetic oil . Red line 2t is a fully synthetic I believe designed for 2 stroke engines .
  6. So , nothing to do with Steve McGarret and Danno then ?
  7. Strangely 🙂 I have heard that the Husqvarna stuff is the best ( would you believe it ? ) The highest octane rating is not necessarily the best bet for relatively low compression 2 stroke engines .
  8. I use this ( Husqvarna XP Power 4 ) and mix with Red Line 2t Racing oil at 50:1 . This because I have a lot of this oil left .
  9. Some nights , lying in bed , I would be listening to what sounded like to me a big diesel engine ticking over . I would get up and open the window to listen , nothing . This happened quite frequently . It took me several months to realize that it was my pulse ! The blood pumping in my head near my ears . Bonkers innit ?
  10. If its flooding as you say maybe when you rebuilt the carb you did not set the metering arm height correctly and its letting in too much fuel ?
  11. I presume you mean a crown reduction rather than made king or queen ? 🙂
  12. I honestly don't think the 8" chips any quicker than a 6" . It can chip bigger stuff that's all . But if as you say it will fill the transit in minutes then there is one benefit .
  13. Not got one but have heard The Stihl MS 400 is a good saw .

    Jokes???

    I remember " Trapper John " , " Radar " and " Hot lips Hoolahan " but I can't remember his name . What was it Mick ?
  15. Ok thats fair . I only had one Honda 21" mower and the drive was pants . Never did collecting cutting and the only other mowers I have had were Hayter Ospreys . Real old school . The last one had a B+S 8.5hp motor and used to drag me all over the place !
  16. Not watched the vid but my limited expedience of Honda mowers in the past is that the engines were good but the drive system was over complicated and weak . A Hyter with a Honda engine was a better bet .
  17. That's the problem with the "plastic " £5 note , when you inadvertently wash it it shrinks and comes out as £ 2:50 .
  18. He might be one of those that fade away into the ether 🙂
  19. I like you have on the bench a 395XP a 390Xp a 372Xp a 560XP a 346XP a 242XP and a T540 . All with fuel in them that get used infrequently now but when pulled fire up with no problems .
  20. I agree with what you say but you are not quoting the OP so we don't know if they are putting a kettle on the stove in the pic .
