  1. Was it a twin carb " Goldie " with the higher comp heads ?
  2. My first proper road going British bike was a 250 Ariel Arrow 2 stroke twin . If riding into a head wind it would do 60mph in forth but 65mph in third 🙂 My last British bike was a Royal Enfield 700cc Constellation with twin leading shoe front brake . I had Triumphs and BSA bikes and others in between . .
  3. I do remember back in 1806 when I was doing my CSwhatever it was that the assessor commented that it was obvious to him I had used a saw for some time but that I had a couple of bad habits . I was undercutting a limb about a foot DIA and pushing the saw with my right thigh like you do ( or maybe you guys don't ) . He said I should keep my leg out of alignment with the bar . So I had to bend a bit more and pull it up with my arms loosing a bout 80% efficiency I thought . However I finished it his way of course . He then asked if we had been tought undercutting as he had not seen any of the other candidates doing it . I said no we hadn't . It was getting on a bit and there was a girl on the course who was struggling a bit and he asked me if I would go and help her out . So I finished some of her cutting and stacking and rasherd up the brash . As far as I can remember he passed us all .
  4. I had the same back in the spring . Mouse chewed a bit about a yard long in the loft .
  5. Yes it was Rick . Elixir Nanoweb 9s electric on everything for me . Even on the two Tanglewood Tw45 s . I find Elixir hold their tone and tune for longer than other brands . ( and they bend nicely ! )
  6. Are you a bit of a " Jazzer " then ? what with the flat wounds ...
  7. Morning all . Clear sky , chilly start . 7c . Happy Monday . 🙂
  8. I saw a vid once where they tested lots of different gauge sets . From 13s down to 8s ( I use 9s my self ) and they could not tell any significant difference until you got down to the 8s and then they had to do a back to back with the 13s to be sure .
  9. Not the assessor But the instructor at my sons course should have been failed ! He broke the side cover on my 346 that I had lent Jack for the course . He tried levering it off with a big flat bladed screw driver with the brake still engaged . Wanker . He said in his defense " its not like that on a Stihl "
  10. Good morning people . Cool start 9c , clear sky and the moon has had a hair cut . Happy Sunday . 🙂

    Jokes???

@Oldfeller Put up the clip of " Fenton " the dog chasing all those deer . Always makes me laugh 😀
  12. Oh ok . I am 72 so been around the 2 series quite a bit as well . 254xp was a good bread and butter saw .
  13. I could be wrong but I thought the 351 and 353 had metal crank cases unlike the plastic of the 350 . Personally I would not put anything longer than 15"/16" on a 50cc saw . If only for the balance . You know , the old rule of thumb , divide the cc by 3 and that gives you approx max bar lenght in inches .
  14. Unless of course you have Spud ported 346 like mine . Pulls a 15" full chiz driven by an 8pin rim . Fast as fcuk .
  15. Morning campers . Happy Saturday ! 🙂
  16. Love it Stephen !
  17. Soon there won't be any GP doctors . The booking of appointments is rapidly going " on line " Oldies want someone to talk to and soon AI will replace doctors . Just type in your symptoms and hey presto ....this is what you need . The role of the doctors receptionist is coming to an end me thinks .
  18. I'm glad you didn't ! There is a 345 as well . Totally shit !😄
  19. The 350 is/was ( obviousely ) a non pro saw . More a home owner type of thing . 353 was ok but the ( closed tranfers ) 346 was brill . The origional 346 with no de comp had a smaller engine than the later " silver side " one . 50cc .
  20. That will put a dent in it !
  21. Morning troops. Misty , mild start to Friday here . Be lucky . 🙂
  22. My son has just had the same.
  23. Starmer escorted out of the house by security under the orders of the speaker for loosing his shit with Nigel ! Made I larf !
  24. I know a bloke who bought a bottle when his daughter was born and opened it to celebrate her 21st . It was flat .
  25. 'Allo moy luvers . 10/10ths cloud cover here . 17c . Shingles jab today .
