  1. Its been a total shit show from the off .
  2. I have been following the war in Ukraine daily since it started . And what is happening now has been building for some months . Prigozhin and his Vargner mercenary army have suffered heavy losses in their attempt to take the ruin that is Bahkmot ( spelling ) and " hand " it over to regular Russian forces only to see it being taken back by Ukraine . He has been super critical of Putins generals without actually criticizing Putin directly . After accusing the Russian artillery of shelling his men and mining their withdrawal it is not surprising that he is now marching on to Moscow . I think Putins days are numbered and Russia will end up divided into many smaller states , each ruled over by assorted " gangsters . Just my take . Ah , just seen this has all been covered in the other recent thread specifically about the war . Ignore this old duffer !
  3. 22 carat , gold embossed , ivory inlaid , leather bound , black enameled , jumped up , stuffed up , never come down , weapons grade bollox . 🙂
  4. Had a young crow sitting on the fence shouting at a wood pigeon I think he was trying to get the pigeon to feed him . Eventually the pigeon flew off and the crow immediately followed it .
  5. Mystery objects found floating in the vicinity . Possible debris from an implosion ?
  6. I got paid with a couple of those on my first paper round . 🙂
  7. I have only been down to depths of 60 or 70 feet at the most and always checked my contents gauge to allow enough to come up but not faster than my exhaust bubbles . That is about the extent of my experience . There is no way I would have gone down to figgin 2 miles even in a pressurized purpose built vessel . I can't get my head around the apparent lack of contingency plans . Surely they could have incorporated some kind of electronic location beacon to at least narrow it down some what . It seems they have had to resort to banging on something metallic to give a signal . If there is a God now is the time mate .
  8. When I was a nipper they were a regular thing around here . Not heard one for at least 10 years now and I am pretty much in the sticks .
  9. AJ , great photo as usual . In the first one , is that a grub or a seed in his beak ?
  10. I presume egger , that he works for the diplomatic core ?
  11. A couple of months ago I sent my 395XP of to Mark for him to work his magic . It came back last week just in time for me to enter the chainsaw race at Wests Wood Fair in East Dean . There are two guys that always end up battling it out for the prize ( sponsored by DM Chainsaws ) . Simon is an old mate of mine and the other guy is Wayne who I don't really know . Simon said I should have ago just for fun so I took the freshly ported 395XP fitted with a 13" bar and 8 pin sprocket and had a go . The " log " is a 9"x9" bit of Douglass or Grandis and you have to make 3 cuts within a 6" lenght . So obviously 1 down , 1 up and the last down again . The saw performed like a total champ but was let down by me the 70 year old half crippled pensioner ! The first down ( pulling ) cut was faster visibly than anyone else . The second up cut ( pushing ) I did not have the upper body strength to keep it fully in the wood so did not cut right through ! I probably would have been better off with a 15" or even an 18" bar . ( next year ) So in short Crockey is a weapons grade wizard when it comes to porting and I only wish I could have done him justice . It was generally noted by the top guys that a fully fit 30 year old me would have pissed it with that saw . @Crocky
  12. Could be good for getting out ear wax . 🙂
  13. A member of the family now I recon . 🙂
  14. I presume you have been feeding him ? He will need to learn to fend for himself but how you go about this I'm not sure . If it was here I would take him to " Brent Lodge " bird sanctuary . There may be something similar near you ?
  15. Sounds like " wankers colic "
  16. I bought one very similar to that years ago and welded road tow suspension to it .
  17. About 15 mins of light rain here . T shirt still .
  18. We seem to have an even spread of green and greater spotted . The greens are usually on the ground foraging and the spotted on a tree .
  19. I use Aspen 4 or the Husqvarna version and mix it with Red Line 2t racing oil . Never a problem .
