  2. The main thing is the series of cuts blow the hinge on the side you want thee wood to collapse slightly making the tree pivot around before it tips to the deck .
  3. I like the Sugihara light weight pro bars . Very hard . Don't need dressing so often .
  4. I tried a " soft dutch man " on a tree that it would not matter were it went . It kinda worked . It made it swing around a few degrees ( supposedly 180 degrees ) before it fell to miss an imaginary target .
  5. Is that Gerry moving about down there ? Stack my vitals so it is . Wait for it , wait for it .......☺️
  6. Can't get the link to work but glad to hear they got someone for whatever it was !
  7. Out of all the saws I have if I could only have one it would be my Spud ported 372XP and a selection of bars . 15" , 20 " 24" 30" . ( slight de rail )
  8. They had to prosecute themselves a few years back . Again a clearfell . No licence or even a good morning !

    288xp

288 on the bay at the moment . About £200 at the mo . Finishes on Sunday . ( nothing to do with me ) .
  13. I think we are #2 here in West Sussex . Won't make any difference to me . All I see is Spaniels , Labradors and winter sown barley . ☺️
  14. The stored energy in a big flywheel is let out in the form of inertia . Takes a bit of time to spin up but keeps spinning even when the power is off . Look at your brush cutter . Spins up quick and stops quick with line . Spins up slower until full chat and takes much longer to stop with a metal blade on .
  15. And it can handle load better, low rakers in other words Yea I understand torque . 200 hp tractor can pull a house up a hill at 20mph all day long . 200hp sports car can bat along at 180mph al day long . Each can't do what the other can .
  16. I have/had 2 saws with full wrap . 385XP ( stolen years ago ) and a 395XP . I recon I could count on one hand the times i have benefited from them .
  17. Might stop the thousands of tons of recently felled ash that is currently going for biomass .
