  1. its a field tree, why deadwood it? where are the targets that they could damage? good habitat for the buggies too . leave it b, it will b just fine im sure, tree has been there longer than us to start with

  4. oh yea.lol the second 2 pics has the all terrains on no idea the load rating, so long as we aint stuck! they're for a land rover and they're 3.5t GVW and the speed rating is "P" and they go through mot each year so that's good enough for me. our trucks normally overloaded most days and never had a blow out yet

  11. here are our two boys Bert & Ernie! they are very intelligent, they know exactly whos around in the yard and who they can get to give them tip bits! Yesterday they had tesco finest donoughts from the apprentice! Brill pets!
  12. the bottom ones are set into the footing and bolted to posts. each course was drilled and countersunk then fixed to the previous course with coach bolts. They are the future for these I tell thee!
  13. 2 blokes 1day in total Over two 1/2days (Wed pm & Thurs am) All the soil dug out wed pm, 1st row of sleepers set in on the footing and left to go off over night, then thurs am bolted the rest together Why u ask? lol
  14. hi Brian, We run a Husqvarna.......... hs something or other. lol Anyway its a single sided cutter 1m bar and its ace for heavy thick thorn, overgrown woody stuff. Don't go off the specs, they can be deceiving ! We have had ours probably 5years and hasn't let us down, also does a reasonable job in finer conifer etc. Research the single sided ones from husq ,you wont be disappointed Andi
  15. after now working with both, id definitely recommend oak sleepers to work with both well worth the few extra ££
  16. thank you sir, I much prefer it to the softwood sleepers ive done in the past. looks much more rustic I think especially when the sleepers weather in

  18. Todays job small cascading oak sleeper retaining wall. first one ive done, client wanted to cascade the sleepers rather than have a straight wall.
  19. wow thanks for all the replies guys I suppose every job is different and in being self employed its part of your job to read every job scenario, customer etc and price accordingly. as Mr Hoddy stated its the overall price that the majority of clienteles look at,and occasionally the fussy ones crop up wanting a breakdown, and dependant on the size of the job/monies involved then its your choice how you want to break your quote down for them thanks guys and I will continue to pold along, learning as I go, and no doubt dropping the odd clanger as I go.lol

  21. looks a good job pal never used a crane to dismantle but looks like it fits your particular job here. TBH id be terrified of crane wrk! im more of a cut & rig kinda guy good job get some good shots of the trunk coming out
