  1. Incidently the big torn out piece is still there , if anyone wants it i can negotiate with the owner
  2. I've got t&c's of a contract climber here and he charges 100% of day rate if cancelled less than 24hrs and 50% if more than 24hrs but less than 48 . No charge if over 48hrs .
  3. No . The owner will use it for firewood to heat his mansion but this a poor outcome really . I just dont know enough people at the moment to pass this kind of opportunity on . I've had plum and some stunning gean wood recently again which just went for firewood , a complete travisty . I was speaking to my colleague today about getting some better contacts to move this stuff on because its becoming a sin .
  4. This oak was just on the other side of the fence to the recent failed Beech that you commented on . The area took a big battering . There was a decent cavity at the bowl but had grown compensatory wood and was healthy i'm afraid to say . The tree LOOKED dangerous with the lean and the big splits in the crown which was enough reason to fell . PS .. I had no pleasure at all in taking this out
  5. You'll pay that for delivery one way !!
  6. Nice torn out oak with big lean . Result of gales a few weeks ago
  7. Would seem sensible to do that with such a small ally pulley but how many people on here actually do that i wonder ??
  8. TBH i do like the look of the rope guide over the pulley saver . Looks stronger engineered . Cant get my head round a little ally pulley coming crashing down out of a canopy and remaining sound , hence why i thought the roka might be better despite the obvious friction loss . Its getting sent back anyway my order has been totally mucked up

I absolutely love mine and i've never ever felt that towards any saw in the past . It is so light and fast , right up my street . Just hope today is a minor blip i would really hate to get problems with this saw .

  14. had a stab at the swedish / danish or whatever pie cut on some back leaning elms ..
  15. This series started off poor and has deteriorated rapidly . Hands up who was worried when Pablo the expert came in ? Final straw for me was as said above putting spikes on to fell from the ground , confusing . There were trees going all over the shop .
  16. I'm going back to the misfit forum to talk Beagles Will exchange it for the pulley saver i think !! Thanks chaps
  17. Impulse buyer .. I'll run it by you first Alex in future .
  18. Just ordered the above as it looks a good piece of kit , but have never heard anyone mention them . Any users or feedback ?? Thanks ..
  19. They better be on time my harness is staying in the van Nothing wrong with my organizing
  20. Hi Chris , i wasnt trying to be a smart arse there , ive no doubt you work to industry best practise. i'm just trying to say how subjective this may be . NO MORE than 15% volume for crown thinning . I disagree that you stick to that religiously as a tree surgeon ... i dont .. Do you know what that looks like cut on the ground ? It would surprise you how little it looks . Do the course if you can would be my shout . I did my training with Eastec in Norfolk , great value for money and top tutors imo.
  21. great sense of humour arbo !!
  22. I did 40 and 41 plus assessment recently for £465 . Matter of honour for me ...some may differ . Do you know industry best practise for thinning and reductions ? What does this equate to volume wise cut on the ground ?
  23. Good honest couple of days , mewps , tractors the lot and a couple of stunt sitka topps coming out .. was good fun . Me and Guss109
