I have just read a bbc article that British surgeons are being trained on LIVE shot pigs as part of military training excercises . It got abolished in 1998 but has ' crept ' back in some how . I personally find this an abuse of human priviliges on nature and no matter if i was a soldier or not , would want this outlawed NOW . What are we turning into as ' human ' beings ?? PS ...Would be good if someone could put a link up , thanks

Coletti it was only the very privileged that had top handles at one time !! Took some brilliant climbers many years to get one !! Its more than do-able :001_smile

cs39 has got nothing to do with using a top handle saw either at least it wasnt when i did it a few years back right enough . Having to purchase one to do this course is nonsense . Lets just tell all our clients that we are arborists, without any written evidence whatsoever to back it up . What makes us any different then to the section of community everyone has a dig at ? To me arguing that you can be much more skilled with no qualifications at all , although very true just aint gonna wash anymore with a more informed public / customer

I'm with Hodge on this , i've replaced one brakeband in 10 years but looks like mines gone on the 550 . i'm very careful with saws and never abuse them .

To be fair Rich , that programme really just dealt with ' unruley ' rather than aggressive cases . It was more a family fun show more than anything else , the owners getting certificates after 3 days or something silly .

I watched a few of Ceasar Milans series and the guy is the best i've seen . I saw him on Alan Titmarshes show and i have to admit i was disgusted at his treatment . AT could only resite RSPCA quotes of how he ' hits ' dogs etc and how his methods are cruel . What the feck do the RSPCA know about retraining dangerous or difficult dogs ?? There solution is to put them down. Cant stand how they presented themselves in dangerous dog cases either, trying to come across as experts in ' pit bull type ' dogs !! do me a favour .. The ' striking ' of the dog was no more than a jab to ' snap it out ' of an intense mannerism . You can see this when a dog gives out many signals and it must not be let esculate into full blown aggression . He's the only one i've seen promoting MENTAL and PHYSICAL stimulation in dogs , something i'm intensely in agreement of . RSPCA have not a clue in this , but i respect what they do , but they really should just stick to that .
