  1. As a paddler I'm confused, 80cubic meters a second is enormous for a UK river. There's not many that make that. The most paddled river in the country only averages 9cumecs. Trywryen. Canoes tend to fair better on shallower water than kayaks too...
  2. I'll try and swing by Monday. But don't write it into your plans.
  3. If you're looking at escort vans I guess your budget is tight. Go for a berlingo, get a multispace for a bit of extra comfort. Plenty of room.
  4. The inners work pretty much the same as re-tensioning the pull cord on a saw. Though it's a fiddly pain in the backside. If you're taking it apart you might as well just replace the tape and keep the old as an emergency spare. Simply because they do kink/snap so if you're going to the trouble of opening the case. You might as well bung in a new tape. Imo.
  5. Partner/berlingo has an option for a limited slip dif. Depends how deep your pockets are. The caddy has an option for 4motion...
  6. What's your problem? It's a proven machine as a light weight 4x4 and is often used as a vehicle for work. It's cost effective, they're affordable and unlike the kangoo 4x4 still available in the UK. Or do you want an appointment for the day after monday next week??
  7. And your helpful recommendation and constructive contribution to this chaps request is........
  8. If the trees to come down any way and there's nothing below. Do it how ever you want. Sounds simple, you might need a fairly big saw though....
  9. I've this up for grabs though is a bit more expensive.
  10. Call your local authority, they will have some one who deals with fly tipping and they're usually pretty officious. They will most likely come round, take some pics and go from there. If it's piled up the back of their fence as though it's come over and the brash matches what's in their garden I can't see how you'll have much to worry about.
  11. How is buttressing unessacery? A few seconds extra to do a tidy job? Also, lower stumps means better access for machinery. Increasing the appeal of a small scale approach and not create the need to use only large scale machinery as smaller stuff can't get in.
  12. Still do it and get the stumps lower, makes the job look more professional. Helps distinguish a hand cutter from a harvester. Also, "swept"?
  13. Buttresses & "bunny ears"
  14. Depends what he's lifting it with. Equiptment will vary. The other thing you'll struggle with is wanting 2 specs on a load. With the quantity you want you'll not be able to dictate specs as it will most likely have been cut to spec by who ever bought it standing. You'll just have to try euro forest/tilhill/Scottish woodlands and be paitent. Second to that find a harvesting site, speak to the operators and waft twenty pound notes under their noses.
  15. I'll check out your handy work when I'm next up there on holiday. For some reason I thought you were further south. Def looks like an 8t machine is what you need. They tow well behind a mog.....
  16. Ummm, I'm not sure if I've been insulted? Was hoping some one in the know might answer...... Any one?
  17. Nail - Head - hit - on. The bankers, being the Oxbridge, bullingdon club, land owning tories who love zero hours contracts, screwed the miners, the minors and anyone else who doesn't own the right amount of land or went to the right school. Labour.
