  1. F*~^ me that is very ANAL, but I suppose it takes all sorts.
  2. If you want any other pics tell me what you want mate.
  3. Mike will these help you mate. These are off my Makita dcs520
  4. Yea its definitely coming out of tank breather and not the fuel line hole.
  5. Thanks Spud I have Dirko, would that work or is seal all better for sealing up the tube?
  6. Just done a full rebuild on my Husky 372xp from the bottom up. Used a new good aftermarket crankshaft new skf 6202 c3 bearings and Meteor cylinder and Piston Kit. I used for the first time a hyway clutch drum kit includes drum, rim and bearing but have no experience with this brand which is made in Taiwan by all accounts. Tonight was start up night, but whilst warming up the saw for taching I noticed fuel leaking from the vyton plug which covers the tank vent tube. Question is I think I'm missing the one way valve in the vent tube as I can see daylight all the way through the tube, and that's not supposed to happen
  7. Moorhead hope this 365 lasts longer than the original one you had mate .I've just finished doing a full rebuild on my Husky 372xp. New crankshaft and bearings, Meteor cylinder and Piston Kit and gasket kit and got it all from Declicmotorculture.com in France for £120 delivered to the door and thought that was a very good price. Only problem now is I have fuel leaking from the tank vent and vyton plug when the saw is on its side.
  8. Cloud, sounds like you've had a real bad experience with the husky brand. I agree with the previous comment that any brand can and do suffer with there problems but that's very unlucky for you to have 4 bad saws.
  9. I use Rowena Motors (carbs) for rebuild kits, lists Walbro, Tillitson and,Zama but don't know about Teikei/ tk kits. You could always phone and ask the chap who is very helpful knowledgeable and if you want anything as long as you order it before 3pm it there the next day.
  10. Similar to factory reset set?, Ok will try it ,thanks Spud. Jim
  11. Spud, ive got a question , what is the min/max carb settings on a Jonsered 455. My neighbor past it over the wall to get it going. Have stripped, cleaned and rebuilt the HDA carb on it but can't find any Jonsered info just Walbro. Jim
  12. Thanks for the advice. have cleaned both flywheel and shaft and refitted and saw is up and running once again. I was confused why it went in the first place,i only removed it for pressure testing to see if crank seals was leaking which they weren't. Refitted and ran it for 5mins then bang the saw stopped?. The nut was tight which at first i thought i hadn't tightened it up properly but this wasn't the case. I know for future ref what to do if i come across the same problem. Bob thanks for the offer, if i should ever need one in the future i will pm you Cheers Jim
  13. Bar fitment wise my husqvarna 372xp bars fit no problem . At the moment i have 24" bar on the 7901 and it hammers that one around. Was thinking of fitting a 28" or even a 30" on it as i think it would still cope even with that length. Jim
  14. Been working on my mates 254xp and found the cast-in key has broken. got a replacement from a secondhand dealer on the net and found it doesn't fit properly . The flywheel in question comes from a 154se and has a slightly different center. is there any other make/models that share the same flywheel with the 254xp ,or is it a trip for a pricey new one at £100+ which i cant see my mate paying as it's a 15yr old saw and not worth that kind of money. can anyone help if they have a scraped saw or have one available sell. Will try 2 local chainsaw dealers in Tavistock to see if they can help. Part number for the original flywheel is 5035294-01 . Cheers Jim
  15. Have a old Jonsered 49sp saw in for service as owner said it wasn't running right. Have changed plug and tank filter as the old one was very dirty and clogged with paint partials from the tank. Fired up but could not tune it, done pressure test all fine there so took off carb and found that filter gauze was clogged solid and was damaged so have decided to fit a rebuild kit as age is on its side ,Fingers crossed that will sort it. I take it that the long pipe from the tank is the breather hose and not an impulse pipe as i can find nowhere for it to fit ( have not see or worked on one before) and info is a bit thin on the ground.
  16. I have a 1985 Petbow 400amp arc welder on 1485 hrs from new . It is mounted on a twin axle trailer and power is from a 3 cyl Perkins diesel engine that is fitted to the Massey Ferguson 35 tractors and is excellent for welding thick metal and for gouging (cutting metal with electrodes) also has 3 pin 240v plug so you can use angle grinders and drills from it. The only thing its noisy :thumbdown:but you can't have everything.
  17. The trunk was not cut for fire wood . I sold the trunk to a local timber extractor who is a friend of my dad as he has the equipment to deal with large pieces of wood like this, He said he would either plank it down or send it to a saw mill for processing. Pic of one of his machines that would of been probably used to load it away.
  18. Pictures of an oak tree i felled for a customer . This is our own tree but was leaning over to the customers side. This tree was removed as some limbs had already broken off and had dead wood falling from it.The customer was a bit concerned about the tree as he is having £28000 worth of solar panels fitted around the area so didn't want these crushed if the tree came down unexpectedly. 4th & 5th pics of trunk which measured 11' 2" in diameter and 18' 6" long and estimated at 5-6t . Could of done with a 28-30" bar for my Makita 7901 saw on this one.
  19. I haven't had very good service from them. Back along i was looking for some bar oil found that Abbey had this Go Part stuff 20L for £30 odd on the net so phoned them to see if they had it in stock and was able to pick it up for the same money as per price on there web site . Spoke to this guy who said he was busy with a customer and wasn't going to look to see if they had it stock until he had finished will him then said to call him back in an hour instead of getting my number and phone me back either way. As you can imagine i was not best pleased with this blokes customer service attitude so will continue using Doug from Tavistock chainsaws down the road .
  20. I find it a cracking saw . I have a 7901 and a dcs 520 which i both rate, but i do agree the 7901 is a bit thirsty and the blue paint is not to my liking but it cuts like a demon with a 24" bar.
  21. I'm still waiting for a few bits to turn up for my mates ms260 so as its in bits i thought I'd clean the fuel tank on it ,but when cleaning it with meths and tipped it forward i noticed meths leaking from the rear av mount screw hole ,is this normal or is there a crack in the front half of the fuel tank or does the av mount act as a seal when all is assembled:confused1: Jim
  22. I have used GHS for parts and the bloke was very helpful on the phone ,ordered parts on sat and they turned up on the Tuesday.
  23. Spud ,just out of interest how did you modify that spark plug you use for testing thinking of making one my self mate.
  24. I have been given a Efco saw to look at by a friend of my gran. The problem I've got is there's no model number on the thing or serial number i can see,but need parts for it as it has a blown engine so no compression. first thing was to strip off the exhaust and look at the piston which is scored with rings welded to it. Question is how the hell can i get the parts if viable to so with no visible numbers?? and who to get them off. the only numbers i have is off the engine which is 40 then a 2 and at the bottom is R2B on the inlet side. The engine is of clam shell type and the saw runs a 15/16" .325 guide bar. Any help with this will be handy,or shall i chuck it in the scrap bin:laugh1: Jim
  25. I have just received my new tachometer and i am very happy with it. Will do 2 and 4 stoke engines and it has a replaceable battery feature . I purchased it from ITCO for £72 inc vat and delivery. I have tried it on my saws and my mate's Subaru and it's very accurate with 0.5 sec refresh time and is a fair bit cheaper than the Stihl tacho i looked at. full instructions included. Contact Richard Dunn at ITCO for more info if interested in getting one. [email protected] or 07860323255/ 01342305114 Jim
