  1. Boot Polish cab get you into all kinds of bother, ask Robert Downey Jr
  2. Lads in here acting like they would turn down a reacharound if Brad offered.
  3. Oh sweet Jesus
  4. Grab some dinner and come back.
  5. Rich, i run a camp gyro swivel on my bridge. Love it. Gives options for 2 rope work positioning when needed and make I don't get systems twisted.
  6. Not my experience, I've always listed ppe items like helmets as business use (sole trader) and skipped the vat.

  8. I've had similar to what you've described, Alex. My thoughts ran from ear defenders to clenching teeth while sleeping etc. Bit of research came up with the Digastric muscle as the offender. Found a simple stretch which helped (you look like a retard so avoid it in public where possible) and now it rarely troubles me. If i feel my jaw getting tight i know what to do.
  9. No disrespect intended, but it sounds like you're running a business model that isn't working for you. Time off is necessary and beasting yourself on the daily isn't viable long term. The phrase "busy fool" springs to mind. Try charging more. Get freelancers in when you can. You can't run a business and be on the tools full time.
  10. Damn near broke my wrist on my first crane job. Nobody mentioned there was a better way so i was trying to swing the chains round like a rope 😂

    Hours

When the police ask "did he say anything that might suggest he did this"?
  12. Sounds like you want cheap, powerful and quiet. I'd suggest you pick the 2 most important factors and then you'll get some realistic answers.

    Hours

There's a stump grinding guy on here who would make those hours look like a part time job. Personally I prefer to work reasonably quickly for the shortest time possible to get the earliest finish I can. I choose who I work for accordingly.
  14. Listen to what Mark said below.
  15. While i agree that's the smarter move, the milf client never wants to blow the groundies, so hey ho.
  16. Yes, you can use a dmm ring to avoid rope on rope contact, if you prefer. Apologies, just realised the OP was intending on using it solely for base tying. Just adding more to go wrong.
  17. You're still ring a knot with a quickie, dickhead. What's your preferred retrievable canopy anchor?
  18. Just get a Quickie. Simple and works.
  19. You know we're in agreement Bolam, but when you were "full time climbing" you were using an 020av. Don't bullshit us.
  20. You've got the gist of it, that's exactly what happened. Why don't you think it will be any better? Anyone who's ever used the stock setup vs the stihl one agrees it cuts quicker and smoother by a good margin. Try it. It's not a massive expense.
  21. Evening Mick, I'm so glad that I can be the one to enlighten you. This type of situation requires a certain level of special. I was field-stripping a saw that wouldn't oil. Suitably a 2511. Traced the issue back to a worn worm drive, which required removing the clutch to diagnose. To check that if I'd rectified the issue, i span the clutch back on and hand tightened it best I could. Didn't bother putting the side cover back on. I wanted to see if the oil was coming out of the oil hole in the clutch side. Started the saw up and revved it, with the clutch pointing upwards. The clutch promptly span itself back off and into the air. Instinctively i tried to catch the spinning clutch mid-air and burnt/sliced hell out of my palm/fingers. When i dropped it the sod span off over a car park and into oblivion. I put the outboard clutches back on differently these days.
  22. Agreed. Where does the liability end though. Can the new owner be held accountable for the previous owners choices? AFAIK the only way the council could enforce a replanting is through litigation, which they would have to prove to be a justifiable use of taxpayers money. They would have to be damn confident they would win and that litigation would be in the interest of the general public. Horrible optics if not. Personally I wouldn't have mentioned and thing, and wouldn't volunteer anything further. Don't do their job for them.
  23. How does it feel to know you'll only have achieved the first one?
  24. Reckon their pretty safe in your wife's handbag
  25. Anything is a dildo if you're brave enough mate
