  1. Ah I see, I asked for a price for the 18hp electric start.
  2. I got quoted £4100 plus VAT for the CS100 The dealer said they will bring one out for me to use for an hour..... So the Bandit has it's nose in front now
  3. Yes that is how I want to do it then pull the just the stump over after. But with the ditch full of water, steep loose sandy banks. I have a feeling I'm not going to be able to get safe footing to be able to do it. Just had a brainwave though, might be able to put a couple of scaffold planks across ditch to give me a safer platform to cut from
  4. I saw some Hyundai petrol power washers today. They were priced £600-£1000 range!
  5. Was that the Bandit chipping light weight palm branches? I did notice the chute seemed shallower.
  6. Yes I will have a winch on my Ifor but just thought easier just to drag off and on is quicker and less faff. I've only just inquired about trialing both so waiting to hear. I know my local Greenmech dealer didn't have a demo model CS100 and Global Newark only have one of their left in stock! I don't think there is a big difference in price between the two makes.
  7. Those are my short list too...Was nearly decided on the CS100 then I saw the Bandit!..30kgs heavier but 5 year warranty....I'm hoping to try both out before I decide. Not sure how maneuverable the bandit will be for 1 man getting on and off a trailer etc.
  8. What Graham says....Plus green tinge sounds like algae/slime mould/lichen growth due to damp/too shaded because of being overstood possibly?
  9. Big ditch overflowing with water in the way.
  10. I've got a 5 ton pull rated winch....I will be getting my Ifor trailer very soon and that will have an electric winch. I don't want to take it to a manure pile and run the cable through nasty stuff on its first job though lol I think the fence post trick will work...Thanks for the tip
  11. Don't forget to order spare shear pins too. I think they are around 10 quid for 10
  12. The stem is still attached at the moment and that's about 2ft dbh and about 12-14ft long. I'm hoping to cut at much as I can off but it runs across a ditch so footing is going to be a bit precarious. I'd like to winch the whole thing back but think it will be too heavy?!
  13. Unfortunately not. Due to a massive pile of manure very close and even then its a wet clay field with slurry on the surface so traction isn't going to be great!
  14. I think I may need to winch an oak butt upright back into a field soon and there is no anchor point for my hand winch! So was just wondering what others use as a ground anchor in these situations? I've seen the ex mod ones but seem a bit pricey for what they are The cheapest and cheerfullest way would be a length of chain laid out in a V then hammer in some pins made from rebar?...would this work?? Thanks Brian
  15. I know virtually nothing about them really, but I would imagine parts would be a swine to get hold of.....
  16. There's a Sachs Dolmar 133 on eBay at the moment......85cc on a 20 inch bar.....sounds like it would fly?!
  17. It wasn't a new looking model and probably looked like a jonsered style machine rather than a husky. I had presumed that with it being a 50cc cow horn handle it was either a top end domestic or semi pro model ...I'll do some googling and see what info turns up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I've just come across one on eBay for what seems a reasonable price. My question is over parts availability....Would it be a rebadged Husky? Cheers Brian
  19. I'm starting a series of dental appointments, as much as i'd like to put one off.....I want rid of my abscess and toothache more lol Cheers anyway Paul, I'd like to get a better idea on what it's all about for the future Brian
  20. I was told 8 went in one night from a place not too far from me, earlier in the week!
  21. We were off from 5PM Wednesday for about 30 hours then again today for 6 hours. We were in a Red zone for wind on Wednesday....Not too bad right now though!
  22. I'd like to come!....unfortunately not possible that day!
  23. Tried out my Kombi unit today, Started first pull and runs well Only problem is I forgot to ask what the problem was...Doh To be honest though I was more concerned with the £94 they tried to hit me with for the repair, as soon as the said "It's okay there's no charge" I picked it up and scarpered lol
  24. Eddie, Have you ever approached Charlies stores to stock Aspen? They are probably one of the biggest small machinery suppliers in Wales. They have stores in Queensferry, Shrewsbury, Welshpool, Newtown x 2, Aberystwyth and Camarthen. I'm sure they could shift a lot of Aspen for you with the right marketing!
  25. Tokyo??
