  1. Couldnt agree more! Im having a bad time at the mo, being self employed and no work dosent pay the bills, that and the odd awkward customer does tend to get to you after a while but I dont think I could go back to working for someone else. I enjoy making my own decisions and reaping the rewards (few and far between at the mo!) To the OP, I hope you get sorted soon, chin up! Its always bad this tome of year and easy to get down. Think positive..............
  2. Cheers mate!
  3. Random question for you mower gods! I have a Wolf GT3 and want to take the blade off to sharpen it, is it left or right hand thread? Also which way is it ok to tip the mower to get underneath it?
  4. Sounds like a good idea mate!
  5. Thats the one!
  6. It might do, do you know the Hp of it? A pic or anymore info? I have cut down the chipper body now and removed the canopy as it`s not required to fit a honda single engine. Mounting a diesel along with a radiator might be a bit of a task but worth thinking about!

Never seen that before! Im sure Spudulike or Rich will be along shortly to advice you!
  8. Would be a shame to weld the date on mine as the paint is still tacky......would you believe its taken over 3 years for it to dry! lol! Chipper is engineless untill I get some work coming in, as soon as I can afford it I will prob go for the 16hp Launtop single cylinder electric start. A guy replied to my thread about it (forgotten his name at the mo, sorry if your reading!). He was in the same boat and fitted one and aparently it workes fine. At the end of the day £500 for a new twin cylinder 20hp is a bargain but I just cant afford it, the single cylinder at £250 is still too much at the mo but atleast its more likely to happen at some point!
  9. Just forgot, I made mine in 2011 too. Must be getting forgetfull in my old age........
  10. Finnished the chassis yeaterday and fitted the chipper to it today! I have cut down the chipper body as I no longer need the fuel tank and battery compartment as the new engine will have a built in fuel tank, the battery will be fitted wherever there is room! This also means I dont need the canopy either, basically my Entec Chippit has now become an Entec Truckloader! Its so much lighter and easier to manhandle now which is great as I work alone!
  11. Think Rich might be refuring to the new trailer laws, besically you cnat make your own trailer anymore to use on the road, unless it has been tested by the DOT. All trailers should have a makers plate and certification. I just built a new chassis for my chipper, prob not strictly legal but "He who dares" and all that!
  12. Thanks for that mate, it was on my watch list! Unfortunatly cash is very tight (read almost non exixtant) at the mo so I will prob end up going for the 16hp Launtop when/if I get any work come in!
  13. Cheers mate:thumbup1: Fabrication is not a prob, just finnished building a new chassis for the chipper! I dont have a belt guard yet (will have to make one) as im converting a Chippit to a truckloader!
  14. Thanls mate! Already seen that one, it looks like its a vertical shaft though, seems that most lawn tractors are vertical.......s*ds law!
  15. Cheers for the reply mate! Sounds like you were in the same situation I am in, my Chippit is basically the same as the gravity fed Truckloader, 4" gravity fed. How did you fit the drive pully to the engine? The diameter of the hole in my drive pulley is 1/18" and according to the Launtop website the shaft on the 16hp is 1"? I was thinking of going for the electric start, at around £250 it seems a bargain! Dont spose you have any pics etc?
  16. Thats interesting, what diameter materal does your chipper take?
  17. Does your chipper have a shoot?
  18. Cornwall, the ass end of nowhere! lol!
  19. Hiya mate, Think the big end went, crank smashed a hole in the crankcase! The only snag with ride on engines is that they all seem to be vertical crank, not horizontal!
  20. Yeah mate, can get a new "Chonda" (chinese copy honda) for £550, but I have no work at the mo and am skint so need to sort a replacement asap and as cheap as poss! Its early days for my business so things are very tight, as you prob understand!
  21. Hiya, Is there any reason that chippers arn`t fitted with single cylinder engines, as most seem to be twin cylinder? Has anyone ever fitted a single cylinder engine on an Entec chippit? My twin cylinder Kholer has died and am looking at a new engine, cash is tight so was looking at a 16hp honda copy engine, but its only a single cylinder, will this make any differance??
  22. Anyone?
  23. I have the housing that goes around the cooling fan but I think its metal......maybe you have a Kohler Command, this was the model that replaced the Magnum as far as im aware.
  24. Yeah, why not! What have you got to lose!? Atlease if you enail them its less confrontentional, if they dont reply then you have lost nowt.
  25. Removed the chassis lastnight, weighed over 140kg! (300lbs!). Now in the process of making a new one, will be alot easier to move around and will prob save a fortune on diesel too! Will take some pics today if anyones interested!
