  1. Hiya Janso! Im from Helston, where abouts are you!? Where are you doing your training? You wont go far wrong by posting on here mate, everyone is so welcoming and some very good advice is often given out! Regards, Anthony.
  2. Yeah, it seems I was thinking bout the 280! It is only a little saw and like you say its not that powerfull but I like the idea of having a small, light saw for small jobs. My current MS260 is sometimes abit overkill, so looking for something between a silky and the 260, I like the look of the MS150 but not at the price they want for it!
  3. Seriously tempted by the Echo Cs-270wes, looks like a usefull tool for small stuff/snedding by the chipper! I prefur Stihl but an being swayed towards Echo, they seem like good machines and very good prices! Also put off of Stihl now because of their new sales policy, my local Stihl dealer is a rip off!
  4. How do you get on with the Entec Chippit Gups? I just bought one but havnt had a job to try it out on yet!
  5. Good find! Mine seems to run well, could do with the blades sharpening but cant grumble as I only paid £700 for it!
  6. Wow, thats a clean looking machine mate!
  7. Thanks steve, I finally figured the woring out yesterday and the beast fired up ok! Rob, yeah I will feed it slowly! Battery is ok, have it on charge to see if it will take a full charge. Worst come to the worst I will drop a new one in:) I was tempted to do a bare metal respray etc but I have work lined up for it so it needs to be out working!
  8. Cheers mate! The PVC is hardwearing stuff from a builders merchants, was bout £45 for an 8x4 sheet, its designed for kitchens and bathrooms. Its only 2.5mm thick but has plywood behind it so its only there to look nice really! A mate did the signwriting for £50 as I had already designed the logo etc myself!
  9. The bar over the tailgate is now removeable and held on with quick release pins, the same type you get on digger buckets! Got it signwritten yeaterday too!
  10. Well here she is in all her glory! The ignition was sorted today so now she starts and runs fine! The hopper was rewelded and additional strenthening was welded in to hopefully stop it breaking again! The shoot had some 3mm plates welded in under the shoot flange to bring the top of the flange up so that the clamp bolts will now hold it. New bolts and spacers were made as the thread on the old ones were well worn. A spanner will be kept handy to tighten and slacken them as required! The bodywork was given a quick rub down and resprayed in JCB yellow, didnt want to try and make it look like a Timberwolf by spraying it orange. Not a bad job, didnt go too mad with it as after all its a machine to be used! I decided to leave it on the current chassis for the mo and build a new one when time permits and then simply put the chipper on the new one. Would have been nice to do it now but I will need the machine out and working for me asap! All in all a nice little project, it isnt perfect by any means but it now looks tidy and will be put to work soon!
  11. Thanks mate, I just got home from working on it and its sorted! Think the red one was the live from the solinoid, the black one went to the negative on the solinoid, the blue went to the coil and the white was the kill that went to the acc on the switch! It works now so im a happy bunny!
  12. "Todays date"......I thought this was gonna be a romantic thread.... lol!
  13. <p>Hiya mate! Nice to see someone else from Cornwall on here!<img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /></p>

  14. Thanks mate! I think the chippit 18 was the earlier version of the Timberwolf 18/100g that they sell now. Entec become Timberwolf sometime in the 90`s. It should suit me fine as im just a one man band!
  15. Thanks mate!
  16. They are rated at 4" as far as im lead to believe. You will have to feed it in slowly so that it dosent stall the engine seeing as there is no stress control on the machine, your arm is the stress control! Tidy lookin machine by the way.....
  17. Cheers for that!
  18. Some fair points here, but if he says this is his first job then he wont be "swinging past" on his way home from another job! Its always hard to price jobs when you are starting out as I am finding! he needs to charge enough to make it worth his while but not too expensive so he dosent get the job! I would say around £120.
  19. Any ideas lads?
  20. Thanks mate, it would be appreciated! Maybe we should start the chippit club!
  21. PM sent! Do you have a chippit too then?
  22. Cool, thanks mate!
  23. Thanks mate, Im gonna do that but wanted to get it sorted over the wend if poss!
