  1. Sounds encouraging! If these engines are honda copies would honda parts not fit?
  2. Not yet, im building a new chassis for it at the mo as the old one was way too heavy! Gotta get some work in to pay for a new engine so will have to wait for a bit:thumbdown:
  3. Sounds like a Kholer magnum mate, they dont make them anymore!
  4. Funny you should say that, my entec blew lastweek too!
  5. No mate, the fuel tank is seperate. If you want some pics check out my thread in the Large Equipment section - Big T`s chipper refurb thread! http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/large-equipment/66251-big-t-s-first-chipper-refurb-thread.html
  6. Hiya, Im breaking a Kholer Magnum 18 twin cylinder engine if anyone needs any bits?? Regards, Anthony.
  7. Bump! Forgot to say, needs to be a twin cylinder and idealy have a 1/18" PTO shaft.
  8. Sounds good, its nice to hear from people that have actually fitted them!
  9. Sweet, another thumbs up for the Launtop then:thumbup1: What oil do you reccomend?
  10. No worries mate, she is an old machine so breakdowns are to be expected! Hopefully once the new engine is fitted she will be back with a vengance, seeing as the flywheel bearings are in good nick there should be little else to go wrong with her, treat her to a new set of blades and she will be sorted:thumbup1:
  11. Nice work steve, hope she takes a second chance at life!
  12. Update! The engine blew on Tuesday and smashed a big hole in the crankcase, think the big ends were knackered! Took the engine out today and decided while it was out to build a new chassis for it, ideal time to do it! Planning on fitting a Launtop 20hp V twin engine to it, cash is tight and alot of people seem to rate these engines and they are alot cheaper than a Honda! (I know a Honda would be better but at 2k+ its too expensive!) Seeing as the Launtop has its own fuel tank then Im planning on losing the engine cover off of mine along with the battery/fuel tank compartment and have the engine out in the open, the same idea as the Entec trukloader / TW 18/100g. Seems a good idea to cut down on weight etc as I have to move it around on me own! Pics to follow!
  13. The Echo range of saws are worth a look, alot of people on here rate them!
  14. Hiya, I have a Kholer magnum 18 that has blown up. Locally there is the same engine for sale but its a vertical shaft. Is it possible to swap bits over to make the vertical shaft engine into a Horizontal??
  15. Hiya, The Kholer 18hp engine on my Entec chippit blew up the other day, I need a replacement. Looking for something 16-20hp, electric start, anyone got anything kicking around the workshop? Regards, Anthony.
  16. Thats encouraging news.....the one im looking at is a Launtop. Its bout £550, but the 16hp elec start 16hp is only £250. Hoping the 16hp will be suitable for my chipper as its obviously half the price of the 20hp! Just wondering if a single cylinder will be ok, after all they fit a 13hp single to the 3" Timberwolf so im thinking a 16hp single might be ok for my chipper, the old engine was 18hp but that was when it was new, i seriously doubt if it was putting out 16hp or more when I was using it.
  17. Im looking at a honda clone engine, 16hp, electric start. Im thinking that the old Koler was 18hp when it left the factory and I very much doubt if it was still putting out 18hp before it blew up! My concerns are, Do you think 16hp will be enough for a 4" gravity fed chipper? (The timberwolf 3" machine only has 13hp) Will it make a differance if I use a single cylinder instaed of a twin cylinder? I can get a honda copy 20hp v twin but its twice the price of the 16hp single..... Any thoughts??
  18. Its a Horizontal shaft engine in after by the way!
  19. Cheers for the advice everyone, unfortunatly the job didnt come off as the guy basically wanted me to do it for a pittance! Oh well, the joys of self employment!
  20. The fuel tank on mine is a seperate plastic one, if its the same engine then it might be possible to take the wrap around one off??
  21. Hiya, Recently bought an Entec Chippit 18, fitted with the koler magnum 18 engine. Did a fair amount of work to it to make it presentable and useable. I finally got some work for it come in today, unfortunatly after 20mins of chipping it has thrown a conrod through the crankcase! So does anyone have a spare Koler magnum 18 engine kicking around or maybe a honda equilivant? Anyone fitted a Kubota diesel etc to a chippit?? Any help greatly appreciated!
  22. Hiya, I do a fair amount of fencing, usually using wooden posts. I have looked at a job and the customer wants to use concrete posts, I have a question that I hope someone can help me out with! When using wooden posts I concrete them in, fix the panels to them and then trim the excess post off the top as required to the desired height. If i use concrete posts I obviously cant do that so is it a case of getting the first post to the right height and then digging the second hole deeper than required and filling it with hardcore etc untill the post is exactly the same height at the first?? Seems like alot of work compaired to wooden posts! Any ideas?? Regards, Anthony.
  23. Monster!
