  1. Thanks Rob! Made a start today! Todays work was; 1) Shorted the towbat a tad. 2) Fix Mudguards on. 3) Weld in some plate steel under where the shoot bolts on to try and make the bolts grip it better (typical entec/timberwolf prob!) Had a look at the wiring. Turns out the Solinoid was ok so just trying to work out where all of the wires go on the back of the ignition switch! Anyone got any ideas? I have the following wires; Black White Blue Red And the following terminals on the back of the ignition switch; ST ACC IGN BAT Does anyone know what goes where??? Now for the pics.........
  2. Hiya! Picked up my first ever chipper lastnight, an Entec Chippit, 18hp gravity fed jobbie from Arbtalk member Ukminch (Top bloke!) I got it for a good price as it has some issues that need sorting but seeing as I am an ex aircraft mechanic and my dad is a retired welder/fabricator it should be a nice little project! The chipper is running and has had a new anvil, flywheel bearings etc,and the engine was serviced shortly before it was laid up (approx 12 months ago). So basically the important parts are sorted, just needs a little TLC! Planned jobs are; Rewire the ignition system. Repair/strenghen the hopper (that almost fell off on the way home due to rust) Re-shim or somehow sort out the shoot clamping arrangement as its gone slack due to use. Repair/repaint the body panels. (Thinking about JCB yellow as I can get the paint and it was originally yellow and dont wanna look like im trying to make it look like a Timberwolf!) Build a new chassis as the one on it is VERY solid and I want it as light as possible so I can move it easily! Pics will start coming tomorrow, please feel free to post your pics/refurb:thumbup: pics!

  6. Cheers for the replies! I got a crappy old Samsung at the mo, its not a smartphone! I have a Sony Xperia Z which is currently busted.....long story but if your thinking of buying one DON`T! The screens crack on their own and arnt covered by warranty, insurance etc......... Some good points to think about here, thanks!
  7. Why didnt i think of that............! Genious! Will have to get my busted xperia fixed now....... lol!
  8. Hiya, Does anyone use a mobile Debit/Credit card machine? If so does it work ok for you? I have been thinking about maybe getting a mobile pay as you go type of thing as I have heard some people talk about them. I appreciate they cost a bit but the small cost will be passed on to the customer. Im fed up with the usual "havnt got any cash at the mo" type of responce when it comes to payment after doing a job! Cheques are ok but by the time I have finnished work the bank is shut, its extra hassle and being a small business cashflow is important so would like a way of getting payment easier and not having to wait atleast 3 days for cheques to clear (normally more including weekends). Any ideas?? Regards, Anthony.
  9. If your on a budget have you looked at the Makita range? Alot of folks on here rate them well and they are cheaper than the big two! (Stihl and Husky)
  10. Thanks mate, not too shabby for a diy effort!
  11. Thanks for the replies! Yeah, im kinda chuffed with it! Helps that both me and my old man are engineers and welders with a bit of chippy experience thrown in!
  12. Thanks guys! Was easier than I thought it would be for a change! Its been a godsend as I do a fair bit of landscaping and garden structures, had a handmade flat pack 5mx2m Pergola on there the other day, so much easier than taking the trailer!
  13. Thanks mate, I didnt think about the roof untill after I finnished it! Oh well, another little project!
  14. Hopefully this time.............!

  19. Hiya! After getting fed up with lack of space for brash etc I decided to knock up a chipbox (soon to be complimented by a chipper!) Took me and my old man a couple of days, quite chuffed with the result! Has ply sides covered in hardwearing PVC and raised corners for using as a ladder rack. Just need to get the signwriting done now!
  20. Mitch, if you sell yours could I have first dibbs?
  21. Ukmitch, clear your inbox!
  22. Yeah, twin cylinder Kohler.
  23. Hi, Im thinking of maybe buying an Entec Chippit. Petrol engined, gravity feed. Does anyone know if spares such as blades are still avaliable? Regards, Anthony.
  24. Thats kinda what I was thinking! Looks like a decent chipper, electric start, 4.5" diameter, swivels 180 degrees on the trailer and looks very simmilar in design to a Morbark! If its a random one then I prob wont bother, just thought I would see if it was a gem I had never heard of!
  25. Hiya, Anyone ever heard of a Feedwolf Chipper? 14hp honda petrol engine???
