  8. Great project Dave, the colour really makes it pop!
  9. Simply Marvel-ous Si If I had the money I'd commission Hell Boy mate
  10. Thanks Si, high praise indeed from such a master! Love the Batman mate, next one please do Hell boy Thanks a lot Rob, be in touch soon over the pre-orders mate. cheers, Si
  11. Quite possibly Pat, but my plan is to improve on the prototype and incorporate bespoke modules/attachments. So by the time I make my kids one they'll get a slide and swing too:thumbup:
  12. Thanks for the kind words guys, Muttley - wow cheers mate. Parts of it were a real pig to do but on the whole it was a dream job, and yes I would have loved one of these when I was young enough to squeeze through the door. I'd do an adult one if I could find a tree big enough!
  13. Yes mate, there's a hinged hatch in the forts floor. In fact it's the only way in unless you parachute in:biggrin:
  14. Cheers , well the kids sooo want it but my needs are greater than theirs and I need cash and lots of it:lol: I'm kind of hoping it will trigger a new line in luxury playhouses for the rich and famous. If I sell a few I'll make one just for my kids:001_smile:
  15. Carved beech butt, all the waste wood from the centre was re-used to make the fort.
  16. I've done a few of these, the cake will probably be on a thin cake board so any wood should be fine. Cut it and stack it on laths like you'd do with milled planks and get some weight on it. Leave it to air dry for a couple months and it should be fine. You may need to sand/plane any wobble out of it, you don't want the cake to topple over:laugh1:
  17. Very impressive but you'd struggle to get planning permission over here:001_tongue: This is something I'm playing with,
  18. Just a thought but if you drill a hole at either end, you could screw it down to bench/ worktop. Then use holes to hang it in hedge after.
  19. I'd agree with making a template if you're planning on doing a lot. Have you considered routering one through a piece of thin wood/mdf and then use that to spray paint it on each sign? I've done the odd sign in the past, I drew the design out on paper and then glued it onto the sign. Once it's dried, carve out the lettering and sand off the glued paper.
  20. LOL yes what a PITA, I did mine by tying some string/cord so that you have two small loops separated by a knot ( like the eternity symbol or an 8 sideways) hooked one loop over spring end and poked a screw driver through other loop and using it as a lever forced the spring in place:biggrin: Works for the spring attached to brake band too.
  21. I'm from Codsal, near Wolves originally, and do occasionally get down that way. Maybe one day I'll get to join you guys.
