  1. I will need to go VAT registered in the new year so have started to prepare for it and was thinking of going down the flat rate scheme. As you say it seems far more simple. I have a couple questions. Have I read it right that you pay 10.5% on your total income including VAT so £100+VAT= £120 10.5% of £120= £12.60? so you get to keep £7.40 of the Vat charged? As you said flat rate scheme seems so simple and better for me as I did some rough maths and On a turnover of £90000+VAT= £108000 I pay £11340 to the tax man and keep £6660 of the Vat I charge? In order to be even or better off than on the flat rate scheme I would need to spend over £33300 to claim back £6660 worth of VAT. Is that correct? And I can still claim back the VAT on single purchases over £2000 anyway. Hope this makes some sense tell me if it's complete bollocks.
  2. I got a load of screw gate carabiners off eBay for this purpose way cheaper than the speed line kit on honeys! They were from a rock climber who replaces all his carabiners every couple years, think I paid £60 for about 30 of them. Worth having a look on there.
  3. Sounds like your saying immigrants are destroying the country as the country is "largely run by immigrants" in your words.
  4. I once had a customer ring me several mornings on the trot at 3.30am left me a voicemail each time. He eventually rang during day light hours and told me he had left several messages to which I replied that I don't respond to messages left in the middle of the night. His reason was that his phone was on 'aeroplane mode'. He was very odd but we did do the job. Always leave my phone down stairs at night and it's always on silent so it didn't actually bother me to be fair.

  6. Not seen any Willow like that but have taken down 2 Birches probably similar age this spring that have done exactly the same thing leaves just about emerge then died. Also saw a ornamental Cherry last week that appears to have done the same. I assumed it may be something to do with the particularly dry April and persistent frosts into May although doesn't make sense for your Willow by the pond.
  7. That's how Paddy would normally start a war.
  8. I'm probably being pedantic but the UK is out of the EU not Europe. It might seem a trivial point to some but it is not. One is geographical the other political. Even my girlfriend who voted remain and works in clinical trials with EU countries gets wound up by this.
  9. Also it didn't work as the tongues don't bend that far.
  10. Thanks for letting me know! I have informed Haix that you are a double agent and they have let me off! Heil Haix!
  11. Thanks for that. Think that's a good plan. Although knowing my luck they'll probably read this!
  12. Hi everyone, I bought a pair haix protector ultra at the end of January and the sole has started to come off from the toe already. So I contacted the supplier and they were quite helpful and have organised a replacement pair to be sent out for free but they want me to take a picture of the boots after I have cut the tongue out of the old pair. Has anyone been asked to do this before? It seems a terrible waste of the old boots as I should think there is a couple months left in them before they see the bin. Thanks
  13. Timberwolf 160 is £11250 + VAT or you can buy my 2015 125 with 550 hours on for £10k and I'll go buy one.

  16. It doesn't drop below 12v after running all day but after a couple weeks of starts it starts to drop. Noticed today the hour clock isn't functioning correctly as it reads 888.8 rather than the 400 odd hours it's actually done.
  17. Thanks for that maybe I need to investigate further or what I'll probably end up doing is taking to someone who knows what they're looking for. Thanks again
  18. Hi there, I have a 2016 Timberwolf 125 which only has 420 hours on it but for the last few months the battery has been losing charge. I've been recharging the battery every few weeks but finally got round to testing it. The battery has a charge of 12.8v and doesn't go up to 14 or more when running so i checked the alternator and that was the same. Would that mean the alternator is not working? Has anyone had this problem before and if so any remedy other than buying a new alternator as it's nearly £200 and seems far too new to have this problem really. Any help appreciated. Thanks Duncan
  19. Any idea what this is? Sorry for the poor pictures. Its on an Ash tree which has quite a lot of decay and bark damage. And appears to only be growing in the damaged areas of the tree.
  20. would add put the straw on a couple sheets of ply as well.
  21. 2nd for the conventional straw bales. I've used 2 together in a 2 dumpy bags and ratchet strapped them together to stop them splitting and spilling out. Used chip in a bag too but found it needs to be adjusted after every log and not as confident it absorbs as well as the straw.
  22. I used 18mm marine ply about £70 a sheet lasts longer and capped the edges with some aluminium channel to protect the ply from coming apart 1inch by 1inch by 1/8inch thick leaves a gap that slots nicely over 18mm ply. Got it from aluminium warehouse at about £50 which if it helps make the boards last another year is good and can be used again on the next set of boards I put on when these are trashed.
