  1. Ok will try another turn out in the L screw tomorrow. Fairly sure there are no air leaks and have stripped it twice and examined everything for leaks!
  2. Hi. Nope it doesn't rev up with the choke on and almost impossible to get it to rev up even trying to blip the throttle!!!
  3. Hope that's just the rumour mill! People will go apoplectic if it's true (and rightfully so) !
  4. One more as I can only upload one picture at a time!
  5. Brought a one owner from new Echo CS-4200es for £25 as it was only running on choke. Air leak or fuel starvation I thought. Stripped it down and found it was in lovely condition. Pistion and bore are unmarked, good compression, impulse tube perfect as is the carb boot. Fitted a new plug. Stripped and cleaned the carb and put it a couple of cycles through an ultrasonic cleaner then fitted a new diapham kit for the WT-594 carb. Reset the L and H screws to factory settings. Fitted it all back together and it fired up straight away and purrs nicely. Only trouble is if you touch the throttle is dies immediately!!!! So no change from when I picked it up????? Ha ha Crank oil seals all looked very sound but even if they were leaking slightly I would have thought it would run off choke ( just badly ?) So any thoughts gentlemen? New carb time? Anything else I've missed? The saw stands me very little but too good to give up on it yet!
  6. Should have known that this would have been covered already:001_huh: Read up on the old thread now thanks for the pointers all:thumbup1:
  7. Hi been reading s lot of posts on arbtalk regarding cleaning gummed up / poorly running carbs on older saws Can anyone recommend a small DIY ultrasonic cleaner for home use also what fluid is best for the cleaners (solvent or hot water with detergent) Thanks all

    <p>Hi Geoff.</p>

<p>Thought I'd let you know I took your advice and ran my sick Echo CS350WES over to Spud and as usual he fixed it!</p>

  9. Wow that's great. He looks like a bronze!
  10. Cheers. Thought that might be the case with the birch but concerned that a standard chain would struggle with the sleepers (Azobe or Ekki) Chhers
  11. I'm helping my neighbour to create a 'stumpery' at the bottom of his garden and have got to cut up 5 small ish dead birch trees 12'' max & no rot and a few untreated hardwood sleepers for his project. Would you use a standard chain and sharpen as you go, or spend a few quid more and use something like the Oregon multi cut chain ( less sharpening ) or push the boat out and go for a Stihl Pecco Duro 3 (PD3) carbide chain. ( no sharpening)? Should add he's paying for the chain etc. Your thoughts! Jez
  12. Can't comment on the saws but your work on you website looks fantastic mate. Visited Croatia last year, beautiful country! Lucky man
  13. How much would a bench like that cost hobby punk? Just wondering if I could convince the wife that our patio needs a rustic bench!
  14. Sad news indeed. Came across a genuine nice guy, always made me laugh too.
  15. The outside at the rear is now finish since the photos were taken and it's all passed LABC inspections, air pressure testing and codes for sustainable homes. So now taking a well earned rest. (Until I find another project, ha ha! 😉)
  16. I said £1000 Psm as this a good ball Park figure. I've just finished building my oak framed house, built to a very high standard. 110sm ground floor 110sm first floor and an attic room of 20ms. Total of 240sm I built it for £240K after my vat reclaim. That was finished completely including bathrooms, kitchen, heating system landscaping etc. It can be done but I did a hell of a lot of graft myself, only got trades in when I had too. Jez
  17. 51 in April and still in reasonable shape. Though my avatar piccy is my spine that was rebuilt 4 years ago. 3 screws and 2 ceramic plates holding me together now but no sciatica anymore. Still get bored if I'm not working and have a very low tolerance of fools and brown nose kiss ass's. Wake up at least thee times a night. Can't remember what I opened the fridge door for? Think I'm eligible for this club 👍
  18. Allow about £1000 per sq metre, both upstairs and down. That's a rough ballpark of the total spend.
