  1. I tend to steer clear of horror films to be honest. I know of people who, because of films they've watched, feel uncomfortable in woodlands and anywhere after dark. I don't want to end up like them! Stupid thing is, I expect you are far safer in the woods than walking through a town. Woods are where the bodies get dumped after all the nasty business has already happened.
  2. I could, but I'd be concerned about the extra weight!
  3. Well spotted! I hacked it off as a souvenir before backing over him with the flail. Never cross a man with implements!
  4. Yup, flat as a pancake in my part of Suffolkshire. It has got a swivel hitch should anything weird happen.
  5. New toy arrived today:001_smile: It's an outrageously over-specced log arch for behind the alpine. It was built by the ever accommodating Tim at TCF Engineering and can fully suspended a 3ft diameter 4mtr long Oak stem, or skid a log of any length. Equipped with a 12000lbs electric winch. When the woodland dries out a bit I'll post some pictures of it in action. TVI.
  6. Great post Ste:thumbup: Where there's a will, there's a way. If there's no will, perhaps it is time for a change?
  7. Don't think you can get a better qualified answer than that! Well said Sean.
  8. Thanks Ian, Fortunately this bloke and those like him represent an almost insignificant percentage of the general population. Most people are thoroughly decent when it comes down to it. Ironically, the fact that he has been so successful in his shenanigans is good evidence of this. Unfortunately my brain wasn't engaged enough to think of a way for him to prove conclusively that his story was genuine. It never occurred to me at the time that he might be trying it on so I was not really looking for evidence. His ruse is very sophisticated, he doesn't directly ask for money (which would ring alarm bells), he waits for it to be offered. Once that occurs he knows he's got you and it's just a case of how much he can coax out of you. For those who didn't see the link, here is his picture. His hair is a little shorter now.
  9. Thanks to all for your kind words and hilarious names! And remember to warn anyone you know who drives around there. All the best, TVI
  10. Thanks Turtle, I was a bit unlucky. Normally on a Sunday I'd be rocking my usual weekend wardrobe and he may well of thought twice! But being a metal festival I thought it best to stick with my usual midweek garb.
  11. Good on you Billy:thumbup: Needless to say, I won't bother checking the post for payment in kind from Mr. James!
  12. Thanks Graham, I'm sure he's probably heard all the jokes. Hopefully he's a good bloke and can put a stop to this guy!
  13. I haven't spoken to him yet! He's been in court all day. Will have to compose myself for when he rings.
  14. Thanks Beau. On the bright side, the Policeman collating information on this guy's activities is called Officer Dibble! Put a smile on my face last night:001_smile:
  15. Good idea Derek, although today it would be more of a swim than a walk! It has left me feeling a bit sick in the stomach, and cross with myself for being such a fool:thumbdown:
  16. Compton Martin Jon, right by the Cheddar Gorge.
  17. Thanks Eggs. It's strange that he continues to do the same thing he has already been put away for twice. He's not stupid so either he does it for the thrill or he has an all encompassing drug problem or similar.
  18. Unfortunately no obvious signs at Leigh Delamere, his favoured hangout. Hopefully that will change at some point soon.
  19. Thanks Jon. The music festival was in the middle of the Mendips. Was that you stage diving to Cult Of Luna?
  20. Hi Scraggs, yes Police are aware. They know exactly who he is so hopefully can do something about him. Again.
  21. It's a shame because I am now much less likely to trust people and more likely to refuse people who genuinely need help. People like him slowly sap human kindness out of the world.
