    I struggled to get my logs dried in the vented 1 cubic mtr bags. I had mould issues. That being said, the split logs are left to season within the wood so don't get as much airflow as I would like. I ended up using stock fencing cages on pallets. These help the logs season really well and very quickly but are not so easy to deliver to the end user.

    I freely admit to not following politics very closely and have seen nothing of the Labour election campaign, but after reading the '24 things Jeremy Corbyn believes' article on the BBC news website I think he sounds like an interesting chap with some refreshingly optimistic and outward looking views. Maybe he's too 'different' to be able to flourish, but I like him!

    Suffolk too! We had a quad bike and two saws stolen last week from Mrs Idiot's parents. I had 80 ltrs of red diesel stolen from the wood and my caravan smashed up last month.

    All allocated for this season eggs, unless someone pulls out. What sort of quantities were you thinking? Price per cube is dependent on quantity. Could certainly supply you next winter. PM might be best so as not to derail.

    It was my first night as a nocturnal Jehovah's witness. Once the swelling's gone down I think I'll hand in my notice. Mr Noise was in no mood to embrace the Lord!

    I agree Jon, It's not much of a deterrent. Apparently he makes £750 per day by shafting people when he's out and doesn't mind spending 9 months or so in prison. He spends his takings as soon as he gets it so is 'unable' to pay compensation to his victims. It must drive the police bonkers, but sentencing and time served is in the hands of the courts.

    Just spoke to Wiltshire police. Mr James is now back in prison. He is likely to get another 3 years inside for his latest string of offences. Prison doesn't seem to phase him much, but at least it is 3 years where he is unable to perform his wicked deeds. Big thumbs up to Melksham police for snaring him so quickly:thumbup:

    I may be setting myself up for a blasting here, but in terms of the UK an awful lot could be done in terms of increasing tree cover if we abolished upland sheep farming. Each sheep farmer monopolies huge tracts of land to graze sheep which is not only hugely environmentally damaging but also ridiculously uneconomic (on average UK sheep farmers receive nearly three times their net income in subsidies- which is crazy) If the uplands were left ungrazed they would 'rewild' with trees and shrubs, greatly increasing our tree cover and transform a barren landscape into rich biodiverse, flood alleviating carbon sinks. The shepherds could become woodland managers and all the world's ills would be cured!

    Interesting stuff Logdaft. Rather worrying that we are removing 15 billion trees a year and only planting 5 billion. Also that we have deforested 3 trillion trees(the same as the total now standing) since the last ice age! With all the concern over carbon levels in the atmosphere it seems crazy that we are not planting more. It does feel like trees are starting to be valued more highly so hopefully we can start to slow down the losses and work towards an equilibrium, or preferably an increase:thumbup:

    I have heard it is a lovely place to spend some time. Regrettably some of the population refuse to accept that blasting migratory birds out of the sky is not a very nice thing to do. I just can't get my head around why people like to do stuff like that! Hope you have a great time though difflock.

    Them townies have always looked down on the ways and lores of us village folk Spud:thumbdown: I spend almost all my time 'amongst' the trees. It's damn hard graft, but you should see the size of my sprouts!
