  1. It was dreadful mate, and if I'm honest probably my 2012 low point, the friction burns still sting now, I have pictures
  2. After 4 years of being self employed 2012 has been my best year by far, have met loads of new friends on here and of here, getting the debt cleared is taking its time but its getting there, Finding out Alex was pregnant again was a real high after 4 months of hard work trying:biggrin: And the 20 week scan is on the 31st so will find out what sex the bun will be:001_smile: not really bothered as long as I know there healthy, Getting engaged to Alex was also a big high for me and saving for a 2014 wedding. Finally but may not be this year but I soon will meet up with my 2 eldest children Tyler 11, Maddison 10 in January really nervous about how I will feel and more importantly how they will, Alex is happy for me and has been very supportive maisy still none the wiser as she is only 2 and half but I'm sure she will understand later as she gets older Rope wrench how could I forget that:lol:
  3. Brilliant rope, first outing today 30ft ish quad stemmed lawson cypress takedown, tied the variation of the single prohaska with ocean poly, so responsive on loading and no binding or slipping, a 26ft ish anchor in the top hardly any stretch from the ground if any! First impression really like although I will say its the thinnest rope I've used tree climbing and gloves are a must as its hard to grip the smooth sheave
  4. Just fount out that when getting your pictures come up twice if you quickly go to normal forum mode and click edit the save it removes the copied pictures not sure if it was a one of is it possible for you to try David?
  5. First day back to work today, small lawson cypress takedown, and the Kelly kettles first outing, had a laugh getting it lit as everything is still wet but 5mins later and she was boiled, brilliant invention, Yale kernmaster rope also got broke in and really nice to use, gloves are a must as 11mm and slippery sheave is hard to grip but really liked it
  6. Great photo mate The back drop is awesome
  7. Have you thought about going on a refresher course mate? Its something that helped me a while back after the birth of my daughter, a friend on here gave me the same advice and it worked a treat, if something has knocked your confidence then you need to find out what it is! Trust your gear trust your instinct
  8. Having a fear is good it allows us to keep our mind focused on what where doing, using that fear is key, that fear is your best friend it keeps you from doing something stupid! But Controlling that fear does come with experience! How long have you been climbing?
  9. Is the tree covered by a preservation order? or is it in the conservation area? Are there any planning conditions on the tree? I would look into all these first before you start anything! If you feel more than capable of carrying out this job then go right ahead! If the tree is in a tight spot and needs climbing or can be felled but is risky then in my opinion I work get a local professional to do it! Who is insured who is qualified Welcome to the forum Adam
  10. If your a beginner wanting to get into climbing or have been climbing a little or really just want any climbing advice then please post your questions here:thumbup1: Adam
  11. I'm sorry I did not know I had to agree/reply/debate/disagree with every post? Really don't get what your trying to do but what ever it is I'm not interested, go chill out have a beer/joint what ever but don't use me as an excuse to have a pathetic argument on who's been climbing longer who's better who knows best, ect As far as I'm concerned the thread is over now in fact I'm out Happy Xmas
  12. ISC small 16mm pulley blocks are good dmm pinto rigs are also good what will your main use ie. will it be your main rigging point of for redirects? The ISC flame is nice and lightweight,
  13. Firstly there was no need to go through the rest of your statement as there was nothing in worth replying to! Secondly it's your opinion on cabium savers not mine so why should I disagree just to start another pointless argument? My reply to this was my opinion! Thirdly the thread is not about individuals climbing opinions its about answering question for beginners. Nobody is saying to them go out and buy every peice of equipment going like old mill? And lastly calm down
  14. To late mate.... come on catch up:001_tt2:
  15. When your kit is loler tested each and every item has to be inspected individually, say if you had 2 ropes the same or more than likely 2 binas the same how could you tell them apart??? This is why when you get your weekly check list out you should mk you climbing and rigging individually like my harness is AB1 my Marlow Aries rope is AB2 AB standing for my name, the rigging gear my bollard is RG1 and so on, makes everything easier to identify for loler testing
  16. Thanks nick hope you had a great day yesterday mate:thumbup1:
  17. Yes I have to agree, where different shapes and sizes and not everyone feels comfy in the same harness, the best advice has already been given, get yourself down to a dealers and try on a few, I climbed on a komet butterfly for years I liked it but getting to try a skylotec kolobri of a friend was a great opotunity as me and the harness bonded straight away, What ever harness you choose to buy enjoy, but remember cheap is not always the answer neither is buying the most expensive, so make sure you covered most of them to be sure Adam
  18. Here's mine mate, January sycamore reduction, may sycamore dismantle, and December peeking out the top of a big atlas cedar
  19. Haaaa! Brilliant mate, have a good one buddy:thumbup1:
