just sat here and read the whole thread.... looking forward to getting one even more now...... just one thing though i have thought about not sure if its been done before or even if it would be of any use but how about a DMM pinto spacer on the bina in betwen the 2 HH plates???? would this help in slack tending from limb walks? you would in fact be creating a small pulley? just a thought adam

Right I'm going to be truthful now, I love the wrench and nothing has ever come close to how much I love it as part of my SRTWP system, now when I first saw the HH it did not appeal to me one bit! Having now seen a few setups it is really growing on me and I have now decided to buy one when I get a spare few quid! Working the tree Srt has become a great new venture for me and having used, muddled, and taken on bored loads of benefits and techniques I feel I would never work a tree in Ddrt ever again! I just don't see how it would benefit my climbing style or my work in anyway what's so ever! Some say it has its place!!!! For me I can't see how except retrieving a line from the tree! After having very briefly used the unicender and several talks from dan Curtis and others about it I feel its just not for me! I liked it a lot and its as sexy as hell! But the hitch has me hooked and is so predictable there's only one way forward for me now and that's the hitch hiker, don't get me wrong the wrench will always have its place in my climbing bag and as Ian has said its customisation is great bonus to a well thought out, engineered, piece of revolution to the tree climbing world! I have thought about the zigzag wrench combo but it still to me has several major flaws! Ian once I have it you may use it or even borrow it for work for a week Watch this space:001_smile:

If I ever top tie and go to retrieve my line I use a cambium/friction saver to come down Ddrt, I have used the technique that Ewan has said about but I find there is no problem what's so ever leaving the wrench engaged, its actually better for the hitch! Yes it does apply more friction in the system but hardly noticeable when using a pulley in the friction saver

You mean after I got the whole line out the 3rd time I was like a bull in a china shop up that spruce, but think a frog walk would of been healthier for me the first 60ft was ok then the driver ran out of steam it was a bitch though

How you finding it mate? I love mine had to make an 11" as the 13 was a little long but would be ok to use just the hand ascender got in the way on ascents. It really is smooth as though. Where were you Saturday mate was looking forward to meeting you

Well done on nearly completing your level 3 mate, Are you looking for a permanent job or on sub- contractors basis ? What other attributes can you offer to a firm? Example "enthusiasm, do you mind clearing dog poo!, raking up, hauling wood, dragging brash! Tell me why I would want to employe you? Tell me what makes you stand out from the rest? What can you offer me apart from the info I already know? It sounds hard but getting it on here like that you would stand more of a chance at someone noticing you mate:thumbup1:

To be honest I ain't really got any Motos! Does that make me anything? An old boss had a couple of old saying! The one that stud out the most coz it made me chuckle was, "Where like racing car drivers! Living on the edge" I don't have any Motos because I just get on with what life throws at me and don't really think about stuff like this! I suppose if I was to think of a Moto that I really like it would be, "Work hard play harder" I remember a film called three kings, they were all discussing there day jobs in one scene and it got to one of them that was from Tennessee and it showed a clip of him shooting loads of electrical goods with guns then it flicks back to him and he says " I don't really have a day job!" I think that would be kind of cool as a t/shirt with someone climbing a tree on it
