  1. I love the iMovie trailer clips so dramatic and straight to the point! Look forward to more mate
  2. Great video guys Got to love it when a plan comes together, there's nothing better when Arb minds come together to make the job easier:thumbup:
  3. You don't know its history, its age, to be honest I'm not a fan of second hand climbing gear without being sure of the above, as long as your happy to use it then fine its sounds cheap enough! Rope wise all depends on what cam you have fitted, 12/13mm? 11/12mm? Its a great tool and very rope friendly never had any issues with it in ten years of using one! As long as your rope fits in diameter to the cam being used then any rope is great with it, although I found tachyon to be my 1st choice, I've had Yale xtc, Marlow gecko, edelrid rainbow, tachyon, Marlow Aries, New England hivee all through the lockjack and its fine. And no the spiderjack is not better I really don't know why people compare them as there 2 totally different operating mechanisms! Never got on with the spider myself though! Have fun with it I'm sure you'll love it mate
  4. My stitching would have to be super neat
  5. What if the tethers were all done in clear shrink wrap for visual inspections???
  6. Or even if it was worded "Although home made tethers are ok to use with the zk2 we do advise the use of a abr or sterling tether" ????? Maybe??
  7. I know your right mate I just need to do a bit more research forum own peice of mind, thanks though buddy
  8. It's a real grey area mate, and in our eyes yes your right but its the people that decided apoon these rediculous rules and regs. They've probably never even seen or used any climbing equipment
  9. Lol, I will buddy once I get my hands on some decent cheap shrink wrap, and also now its been brought to my attention the zk2 instruction Manual may stop me from making them for people who operate under LOLER and PUWER ?? Grey areas!!!!
  10. Makes me wonder if I should make these tethers for others now????
  11. I agree dan, you wouldn't LOLER test a petzl carritool and as it clearly states the wrench is not to be used as a primary life support there for any old tatt can be used to connect it into the system!
  12. I'm up for a climb anywhere anytime, work and family permitting obviously
  13. The only way I can see round it is to not use it Srt mate.
  14. Not sure if this link will work but well worth a mention http://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=486376284742899&id=195995550447642&set=a.198393366874527.43711.195995550447642&ref=stream&__user=1523448650
  15. Nice work Ross and Rich:thumbup1: I would love to do some meaningful reductions, but all I get is to help get another year of light supply into mrs frontbottoms kitchen!!!! That's why I don't bother to post my work so often as it just turns into a "oh! Why have you reduced that tree!!" Thread or "don't you know its the wrong time of year" really does my head in! It's work at the end of the day and like rich says as a subby climber if we don't do it we don't get paid regardless of what we think of the spec!!!
  16. Brilliant, as I love that feeling! Don't think the cat would be to impressed if I tried to feed one to him though.
  17. I'd have to agree there tony, but they have to be young leaves Willow leaves are great to eat if you have a head ache
  18. That's what confused me as he quoted what mattyf had said and agreed with him! Matty never said anything about redirects? The thing that really bugs me the most is someone has asked a specific question in the thread title!!!! Would it not be useful if people stopped raving on about Ddrt on an Srt forum better still on a thread entitled what had srt done for you? and those who have never tried it then why post a comment? The same also goes the other way round!!!! I'm not having a go at you rich just peoples posts in general I enjoy working Srt I have first hand seen, used and felt its benefits. not everyone is the same. SRWP rules SRWP is a load of tosh Ffs!
  19. I think your confusing mine and Ian's differences Ian has lost weight so he has either lost muscle mass somewhere in his body due to him not climbing as much lately or he has lost fat but instead of gaining muscle he has just merely toned them! Me on the other hand have had plenty of climbing and I can only tell you what I'm seeing and its done for me. with the correct posture and technique its easy to concentrate on what muscle groups you use, its just like light weight works really, my technique utilises less arm work and more back and chest work, 100% more leg work as before when using Ddrt I just used to pull hand over hand, more joint work! Elbows wrists and shoulders, DEFIANTLY not because I was doing it wrong! Like I say I can only tell you what Srt is doing for me! Everyone is different, I really don't get the comment that John Shutler had said about creating a problem that didn't exists!!!!! HOW? Yes I'm using less energy because I'm not wasting any never said I was doing less work!!!! Ddrt has a lot of wasted energy downfalls you only have to look at the obvious 2:1 ratio compared to 1:1 I think those that have tried SRT but still prefer Ddrt good on you! I'm not a preacher and I'm not trying to convert anyone just a climber saying what he see's. Adam
  20. Shown me they way! No seriously though in 5 months I've put 2" on my chest due to the correct function and use of my upper body, No wrist problems, no elbow aches, shoulders feel great and above all a little more energy, it is amazing how you aways find a way to use that though!!!!! Reinvented my climbing style, I look at trees now in a totally different way, reductions are quicker due to redirecting through out the crown, limb walks are minimal due to redirects leaving less risk of a pendulous fall. Tip pruning and thins have become more efficient, takedowns haven't changed much but can see great advantages in pole rescues if the unspoken ever happens. All in all for me I love my climbing even more now, its opened so many doors for me
