  1. Why? Just to prevent rope burn you sometime get with big swings an decents also thought it would burn you gloves out slower
  2. Right I don't know if this has been said or tried? But I was thinking of a large wood round bead above the friction hitch or maybe zigzag or this would be loose say 13mm hole for 11mm rope?
  3. Same problem with protector pros no wear meindle airstreams
  4. Worth it! We have one at work and comes into use when we need it not often but is a fantastic bit of kit we must of had 700kg on it find a good pivot point and away you go, sometimes we have one of us sitting on the log with it to level the load. 1 MAN!
  5. Eric Clapton, we took down some uprooted larches.
  6. Evening, just a quick thought maybe we could organise a south east reccy, or maybe if anyone knows of any nice trees around this end of the country surrey/Sussex. (Been to the recent one at wippendale woods organised by Nathan)
  7. Haha this has turn out to be a funny thread I watched him do it so he was telling porkys, I'll think I'll leave it then I just thought it was a common action to take with a spanky rope.
  8. Haha jokes aside I'm not sure if I did ask him why and if I did I forgot hence posting this thread... But I was thinking maybe it was to stop the melting of the rope he was a very very able climber that would pendulum all round the tree with all the gizmos, he used a hitch climber that why I thought of rope melting
  9. Hello chaps I bloke I used to work with run sandpaper up and down his new ropes before he used them has anyone else used tried this before?
  10.

  11. Hold on a minute I was 100% certain I was going to win with liros iredecent, I'm sad.
  12. Nice one for arranging the reccy on sat Nathan, good to see some other climbing techniques, nice woodland and some monster trees... Had a good day with a decent bunch of lads.
  13. Hello Nathan I'm think of coming down with a college from work.. How many people normally turn up for the reccy's
  14. I've submitted mine, I think I'm going to win! I'll post a picture when I've got it in action.
  15. I don't know any thing on the spider jack but a friend of mine uses the sequoia new one and rates it! He had the older model and said the new one is excellent upgraded back support (deeper) and also the legs loops he climbs srt with a zigzag.
  16. Nice one for the detailed reply found a pack of 4 32mm sailing beads on ebay for £5.49 I think ill use some pull start cord until I can find somewhere for the rubber ties. Cheers pal
  17. Yeah just a standard fleece I want to try and get a slimmer fit so I don't get that baggy overhang on the harness. Mattyf The stein jacket your talking about is that the evolution?
  18. Hello chaps what lightweight breathable robust jacket do you wear in the tree for the colder days?
  19. Agree with above, we had problems with at 200 at work we replaced the springs with new ones, they loose tension after a while, grind sharp edge in the rollers, new blades also check the anvil! This also needs a sharp edge. It was a pleasure to use not like before when there rolling on a twig!!!!!
  20. Get another pair of airstreams I wore protector pro for around 4 years fantastic boot good ankle/leg support, but bit to high for climbing IMO, im climbing with my new airstreams!
  21. Yeah I do that but sometimes gets caught on the big ring and takes a lot of flicking to release it.
