  1. I have a couple of bits of laburnum firewood on the mantlepiece. Occasionally chip a bit off for tool handle wedges. Just a nice thing to do.
  2. Can I use water and salt?
  3. Very little subbing. Extremely useful on my own jobs. Exactly the direction I didn’t want to go but there it is.
  4. It’s actually had a hard ish week. Some little governor spring broke so it’s been running with a light hunt. Going to do the valves just in case as well.
  5. I washed it and it’s getting a service tomorrow. What more could it demand.
  6. We screamed at each other only an hour ago as it happens.
  7. Do Sherpas have a drain hole in the frame? Skidsters don’t.
  8. Some friends just dropped in unannounced with a bottle of wine.
  9. Nothing that hedonistic I’m afraid. A few polite guests made polite conversation while I threw brash on. Drank some beer and ate some chicken wings. Carriages at about ten. We did all bugger the smallest boy towards the end of the evening. I was meant to be at a rugby thing for that in the morning but it was cancelled.
  10. The mighty little Skidster managed to roll a blazing yacht over earlier. #arbwork
  11. I was thinking more along the lines of disbanding HMRC or the police but we can go with your suggestion for now. doobin, draft a letter.
  12. Belongs in the stunt fell thread. Nice buildings. Cornwall?
  13. What are people doing for saw carrying? I'm putting it on the operator's platform atm. Bent the bar when I rolled it. I'll bend it again catching the bar driving past something. Show me your holsters.
  14. I want to get away from .325 as well. Pretty much the same reason(s) as you. My 18” 251 is the only saw I have on it. One option is to sell that and replace with a 20” 400 on proper 3/8 but I hardly use it as it is. My 220 battery saw is 16” 3/8 picco. Hardly need the petrol saw. I’m about half way through a mini forestry job and have about three tonnes of cherry roadside. All done on battery power so far.
  15. I concur. A lot more stuff on a Microbull. Some more capability but a lot more stuff.
  16. I’m thinking about a flail/mower on similar principles. They probably exist.
  17. Le prix si vous vu. Le prix plus le prix si vous m’aidez. Christ my french is rusty.
  18. I'd like some wooden plates. I often eat off boards. Need a lathe. Need space for one first.
  19. Someone enquired about the bruising to my ego. Absent. Gave me and a pair of visiting friends a laugh and now I know the trick for clearing a locked engine. I probably wouldn’t have been so chipper about it if I’d goosed it of course but there you go.
  20. Not very easily at all. They’re good machines. I tipped both fully knowing I was pushing limits. The diesel one I properly turtled hooning it round a downhill corner on a bank, the absolute worst manoeuvre for a thing like these. The petrol one yesterday I clamped a standing tree, step cut it and tried to drive off with it like an umbrella. Tree was too big. Had ample time to put it down etc but was trying to save it to see what could be achieved. I’m at my proving ground, where I test stuff to see what I can get away with. It doesn’t matter if I lose time or break anything (squashed a shit stock fence on this occasion). Dad just shouts at me for a bit but he enjoys that anyway.
  21. You were doing so well until I noticed the nice knife on the ceramic plate.
